iOS 18 has a new interface in visionOS style?

According to Gadget360 , a new report says that iOS 18, which is expected to be released later this year, could come with a major change in the user interface (UI).

A report on The Verifier citing unnamed sources said Apple will redesign parts of iOS to look more like visionOS - the company's operating system for its recently launched Apple Vision Pro mixed reality glasses.

According to the report, Apple is planning to refresh some parts of the operating system such as built-in apps, along with system menus and pop-ups with a new design inspired by visionOS. The report also claims that the first sign of upcoming changes has been added to the Apple TV+ app with the tvOS 17.2 update.

iOS 18 could feature a visionOS-style overhaul

The iPhone maker updated its eponymous content streaming app for Apple TV to tvOS 17.2 in December 2023. The update brings a new sidebar menu with a translucent style and design elements similar to visionOS. The report claims the company will roll out the same menu design to iPadOS later this year.

While The Verifier doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to leaking accurate information about Apple products or software, this isn’t the first time Apple has been rumored to be working on a major update to iOS. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman also said that iOS 18 will be the company’s biggest update to its mobile operating system in years. The company is reportedly working on a number of AI features that will be integrated into the upcoming operating system.

Apple has yet to make any announcements regarding its next software update, and given the company’s tight-lipped approach to its products, fans can expect details on iOS 18’s new look in June at its WWDC 2024 developer conference. That’s when the company typically unveils its next software updates for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch.
