The door for Indonesia to participate in the 2026 World Cup finals is still wide open.

In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Group C, at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Ole Romeny, a striker playing for Oxford United in the English First Division, scored the only goal in the 24th minute to help Indonesia defeat Bahrain 1-0.

According to Bola ’s prediction, this victory will bring the Indonesian team up 7 places in the FIFA rankings. Indonesia’s current score is 1138.88. With this victory, “Garuda” will be added 16.75 points, moving up from 130th to 123rd place.

Meanwhile, Bahrain will drop from 80th to 85th place. Previously, Indonesia had been downgraded in FIFA rankings for a long time. Disappointing results in the 2024 ASEAN Cup or previous losses in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers caused “Garuda” to fall to 130th place in the FIFA rankings.

However, after a heavy 1-5 defeat in Australia, coach Patrick Kluivert's team defeated Bahrain to gain momentum after the March series. Indonesia's next goal is to enter the world's top 100.

Meanwhile, in Southeast Asia, the Vietnamese team is expected to rise four places to 110th place in the FIFA rankings. Coach Kim Sang-sik's team won a resounding 5-0 victory over Laos in the opening match of the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
