BTO - From today (August 15), the new visa and immigration policies taking effect, combined with the strong recovery trend of the tourism industry, will help Binh Thuan attract more international visitors, especially during the peak season for international visitors to relax and avoid the winter (from October to April next year).
From August 15, the new visa policy just passed by the National Assembly allows the extension of electronic visas from 30 days to 90 days, valid for multiple entries, and increases the temporary stay period for those entering under unilateral visa exemption from 15 days to 45 days... which will open up opportunities to attract international visitors to Vietnam in general, Binh Thuan in particular, while extending the length of stay and increasing visitors' spending.
After the highway was built, Binh Thuan tourism is recovering strongly, especially the domestic tourist market. However, the international tourist market is recovering slowly and with difficulties, the number of international visitors in the first 6 months of this year is less than half of the same period in 2019 (although Vietnam opened its doors to international visitors from March 15, 2022). Therefore, tourism businesses are expecting the new visa policy from August 15 to open up many opportunities to attract international visitors to Binh Thuan.
However, extending the length of stay and increasing the spending of international visitors is a big challenge. Making a good impression and getting visitors to come back for the second or third time is even more difficult. Tourism businesses in Binh Thuan are preparing for the upcoming peak season of international visitors, including investing in facilities, human resources, and renewing tourism products, cuisine, sports, culture, tours, routes, etc.
Convenient and fast transportation, new visa and immigration policies have many breakthroughs, are more open and flexible. Chairman of Binh Thuan Tourism Association, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, hopes that Binh Thuan will welcome from 400,000 to 500,000 international visitors this year.
