Welcome guests to the village

Ta Lang Community Cultural Tourism Village (Bha Leê Commune, Tay Giang) has just organized a welcoming ceremony for visitors to the village. The village entry ritual of the local Co Tu community was reenacted, attracting hundreds of locals and visitors.

To kick off this unique cultural activity, very early, the Ta Lang people go out to the alley to hang a brocade sheet as a “welcoming gate” to welcome guests. The Co Tu people put a ring made of bamboo on the head of the guests entering the village, implying the wish for peace and hospitality.

Mr. Alang Sen - Head of Ta Lang village said that the village entrance ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of the Co Tu long house. Through this ceremony, the locality hopes to exploit and develop it into a typical tourism product, contributing to the preservation and promotion of community cultural values.

“When a project is completed, the Co Tu people often organize a festival to invite guests from other villages, even tourists from far away, to join the village and enjoy the festival. The Co Tu people are always hospitable, anyone who enters the village is considered a member of the village. They put aside all grudges, conflicts, discrimination... to join the community in enjoying the festival,” Mr. Sen shared.

According to Ms. Briu Thi Linh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bha Leê commune, the village entry ritual is one of the cultural features in the life of the Co Tu people. This ritual has the meaning of praying for peace and health, demonstrating a culture of humane hospitality, strengthening solidarity between the village community and furthermore, tourists, friends...

This is also an opportunity for the Co Tu community to share experiences in labor, production and economic development, educate their children to preserve, conserve and promote good traditional cultural values, help each other progress and develop sustainably.

“Through the village entry ritual, the local government hopes that people will continue to exploit, build and develop the village entry ritual in particular and other traditional cultural rituals and ceremonies in general to become unique tourism products, contributing to increasing income more and more effectively.

In the economic development orientation of the commune in the coming time, we determine to combine the work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​with tourism development. In particular, promoting the cultural values ​​of the village, the good traditional festivals of the Co Tu people to serve tourists" - Ms. Linh said.

Having the opportunity to participate in many cultural events in the mountainous region of Quang Nam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Loan (a tourist from Tam Ky City) said that she was very excited to witness the unique festival of the mountainous people, especially the Co Tu community in Tay Giang. Therefore, Ms. Loan always comes very early to almost every cultural festival to immerse herself in the festival atmosphere.

“The Co Tu people always have a very high community spirit, they share common work together to contribute to the success of the village festival. In particular, the Co Tu people are very friendly and close. They preserve their traditional culture very well, as well as cleverly promote their cultural values ​​through festivals, creating unique tourism products to help visitors have more interesting and impressive experiences” - Ms. Thu Loan shared.

Mr. Briu Hung - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Tay Giang district said that through many traditional cultural events of the Co Tu people being restored and re-enacted, from the new rice festival in Aro village (Lang commune), the new rice festival in A Rang village (A Xan commune) to the village entry ceremony in Ta Lang village (Bha Leê)..., the locality wishes to gradually restore unique cultural values. Thereby, creating an interesting experience space, aiming to introduce and promote ideal tourist destinations for visitors.

According to Mr. Briu Hung, these events are organized by the Department of Culture and Information of Tay Giang district, with the participation of the community and local authorities. Through the village festival ritual, the aim is to exploit and develop tourism products according to Project 6, the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, period 2021 - 2030.

“By participating in the festival, visitors can also experience the cultural space of drums and gongs, participate in traditional folk games, enjoy cuisine, go rafting on the river... very interesting. Hopefully, these new tourism products will help visitors have more experiences when coming to Tay Giang” - Mr. Hung said.
