On the morning of November 9, the People's Committee of Krong Nang district organized the Conference "Linking production - connecting consumption of agricultural products in the district in 2023".
Attending the conference, on the provincial side were: Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Tran Trung Hien; Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Huynh Ngoc Duong; representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
On the district side, there were: Secretary of the District Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu An; Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee Vu Van My; Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Tran Son; Vice Chairman of the District People's Council Tran Van Ngoc; representatives of leaders of specialized departments, communes, towns, socio-political organizations; representatives of enterprises, investors, cooperatives, and production cooperatives in the district.

Krong Nang district has a natural area of 61,461 hectares; of which there are about 36,700 hectares of red basalt soil (accounting for nearly 60% of the natural area), suitable for many types of long-term industrial crops such as: coffee, durian, macadamia, pepper. In addition, it is also suitable for many types of fruit trees such as: lychee, avocado, orange, tangerine, passion fruit, and short-term crops such as: sugarcane, lychee, beans, corn, rice, etc.

According to the assessment of the District People's Committee, the locality has a lot of potential, very favorable for agricultural development, creating many products to serve domestic needs and export.
However, in recent times, most households have produced on a small, fragmented scale (not producing according to standards - not linked to production); people have not really paid attention to learning about market information, still producing according to the crowd mentality (seeing high prices, then planting accordingly), leading to "supply" exceeding "demand", poor product quality, not meeting market requirements.

In addition, the production linkage according to the agricultural product value chain has only stopped at the stage of raw production and processing, there is no connection between production - processing - market, and has not created many products with the ability to directly access the global value chain; the added value in the agricultural product value chain is still low; enterprises have not linked production with processing and consumption to master the market, especially the international market.

Orienting sustainable agricultural development and chain linkage in the period of 2023 - 2025, the district determined that coffee is still the main crop, so it continues to stabilize the area from 23,200 - 24,000 hectares; orienting to develop about 7,800 hectares of durian and about 3,900 hectares of macadamia, 1,400 hectares of pepper, 550 hectares of lychee, 1,200 hectares of avocado...
At the conference, business representatives shared the advantages and difficulties in the market and consumption needs, purchasing connections, as well as proposed solutions to promote agricultural product consumption in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee Vu Van My said that in order to effectively promote the advantages, potentials and strengths of the locality in agricultural products, evaluating and reorganizing production, strengthening production linkage - connecting agricultural product consumption, forming production linkages in chains (closely linked) between farmers, producers and enterprises connecting to the market are important goals that need to be focused on, prioritized and directed strongly by management agencies at all levels.
The Chairman of the District People's Committee pledged to be ready to welcome sponsors, investors, and businesses to "link production - connect consumption of agricultural products for people"; create the most favorable conditions and coordinate and accompany partners, businesses, and investors throughout the journey towards green and sustainable agriculture, with the spirit of contributing, sharing and developing together.

At the conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed on “Cooperation agreement on production, purchase and consumption of agricultural products in the Compact region” between the People's Committee of Krong Nang district, the Steering Committee of the Compact Program (Production program combined with resource conservation and social security) and the following companies: 2/9 Import-Export Company Limited (Simexco Dak Lak); Nedspice Vietnam Spice Processing Company Limited; Tay Nguyen Durian Joint Stock Company (Sarita); Chanh Thu Fruit Import-Export Group Joint Stock Company.
