Mobilizing over 100 billion VND to care for the poor and social security

On December 17, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province held a conference to review the front's work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

In 2024, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of Thai Nguyen province mobilized support for the "For the Poor" Fund with over 59.3 billion VND, and the Social Security Fund with over 48.8 billion VND. From the "For the Poor" Fund, support was given to build and repair 416 houses for poor and near-poor households with a total amount of over 16 billion VND; support capital for production, civil works, poor students with difficult circumstances, visit and give gifts to poor households on holidays and Tet, support medical examination and treatment... with a total amount of over 46.2 billion VND.

The work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels participating in Party and government building continues to be improved; social supervision and criticism activities are carried out according to plan, contributing to representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people.

Speaking at the Conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Hoang Son hoped that the Fatherland Front at all levels would continue to carry out campaigns and emulation movements, respond to the movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", activities to care for and support the poor, vulnerable groups and social security work.

Focus on propaganda, improve the quality and effectiveness of supervision and social criticism work; effectively implement the regulations on democracy at the grassroots level; enhance innovation in the content and methods of operation; do a good job of grasping the people's situation; continue to consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc.

At the Conference, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee consulted to supplement 5 member organizations; supplement and replace 3 members of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, term XVI. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee awarded certificates of merit to 30 collectives and 28 individuals with outstanding achievements in front work in 2024.
