The Cong - Viettel Club may not be able to play at My Dinh Stadium if the bad pitch is not fixed.

In an official dispatch sent to The Cong - Viettel Club on April 1, the organizing committee of national professional football tournaments (Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company - VPF) pointed out the problem of the My Dinh Stadium's grass surface not being guaranteed. Specifically, this affected the professional quality of the match between The Cong - Viettel Club and Hoang Anh Gia Lai on March 30.

VPF stated the reason was that My Dinh National Stadium had recently organized a number of events, along with ineffective care and maintenance of the grass surface.

VPF does not deny the efforts of The Cong - Viettel Club in ensuring the organization of home matches since the beginning of the season. However, to ensure the quality of the playing field for the next matches, VPF requested that this team coordinate more closely with the field management unit, temporarily suspending activities on the grass to increase care and maintenance.

This weekend, V-League 2024 - 2025 will return. As planned, The Cong - Viettel Club will host Quang Nam in round 17 at My Dinh Stadium on April 5. VPF will have a session to evaluate the quality of the field on April 3. If the field is not guaranteed, The Cong - Viettel team will be forced to change the field (possibly renting another field as a neutral field) as in the case of Ha Tinh.

The deterioration of the My Dinh Stadium's grass surface has long been a difficult problem for Vietnamese football during periods when the national team is not playing. On March 30, The Cong - Viettel and Hoang Anh Gia Lai played the quarter-final match of the 2024 - 2025 National Cup on the rough, sparse or non-existent grass of My Dinh Stadium.

Both head coaches of The Cong - Viettel and Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang and Le Quang Trai, have complained that the stadium does not meet quality standards.

The Cong - Viettel Club has registered My Dinh Stadium as their home ground since the beginning of the season. Therefore, they are the team that is partly responsible for the care and maintenance of the field. The team has 3 days to fix the grass before the VPF inspection.

Before The Cong - Viettel, Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Quy Nhon Binh Dinh clubs were also complained about the quality of their home turf in February.

But Binh Dinh promptly overcame the situation and continued to play at Quy Nhon Stadium. Meanwhile, Ha Tinh failed the first inspection and had to use Vinh Stadium as a neutral ground.
