Heavy rain and floods cause many power infrastructures to be submerged in water. |
The Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) said that as of this morning, September 11, it has restored power to more than 4.8 million customers out of a total of more than 5.9 million customers affected by storm No. 3, equivalent to 81%.
Most of the areas with restored power are provinces and cities directly affected by storm No. 3. Of these, Quang Ninh restored power to 169,280 customers, Hai Phong 565,254 customers, Hai Duong 510,000 customers, Thai Binh 568,420 customers, Bac Giang 484,568 customers...
Units in EVNNPC have restored 132 power lines, 76 110 kV transformer stations, 1,376 medium voltage lines and 334 transformer stations supplying power to flood pumping stations.
It is expected that today, PC Thai Binh will complete the repair and restore power supply to ensure safety and stability for all customers in the province affected by storm No. 3.
Rising river water and floods exceeding the 65-year record have caused flooding in 15 provinces including Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh and Vinh Phuc, causing many customers to have their power supply interrupted.
Rising water levels in rivers in Hanoi have also caused flooding in some areas, affecting power supply. On September 10, Hanoi recorded 173 customers without power (concentrated at Chuong My Electricity Company).
EVNNPC has been directing and requiring staff to control work on the power grid during construction, troubleshooting, and incident handling to ensure labor safety and conduct thorough inspections before restoring the power grid, ensuring electrical safety for the people.
Due to the impact of natural disasters, the power grid system may have problems or the power company may proactively stop supplying electricity to ensure the safety of customers and people.
