On May 22, the National Assembly considered personnel issues, including approving the appointment of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment after the opening session of the 5th meeting.
According to the scheduled program, late in the morning and most of the afternoon working time, the National Assembly will meet separately on personnel work.
Previously, Deputy Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh said that at the 5th session, the National Assembly will consider the proposal to approve the appointment and dismissal of the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment for the 2021-2026 term.
For more than four months, Mr. Tran Hong Ha has held the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, since he was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term in early January.

During the day, the National Assembly Standing Committee will also submit to the National Assembly for consideration a decision to remove Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong from his duties as a delegate and from his position as Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee, and then elect a new person to replace him.
On May 16, Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong submitted a request to resign from his duties as a National Assembly delegate and from positions elected by the National Assembly, one day after the Central Executive Committee agreed to let him resign from his position as a member of the 13th Central Committee.
In addition to personnel content, in the morning session, the National Assembly will consider the Government's report on additional assessment of the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and state budget in 2022; the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and state budget in the first months of 2023.
The National Assembly also listened to Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien report on the synthesis of opinions and petitions of voters and people sent to the 5th session; Head of the People's Aspirations Committee Duong Thanh Binh report on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the 4th session.
In the afternoon, the Minister of Planning and Investment and Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment presented a report and examined the adjustment of the investment policy of the Ka Pet Reservoir Project, Ham Thuan Nam District, Binh Thuan Province.
The Governor of the State Bank and the Chairman of the Economic Committee presented the Proposal and examination of the investment policy to supplement charter capital for the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
The 5th session will be held in two sessions with a total working time of 22 days. Session 1 will be 17 days (May 22 - June 10); session 2 will be 5 days (June 19 - June 23).
At this session, the National Assembly will consider and pass the Laws on Consumer Rights Protection (amended); Bidding (amended); Price (amended); Electronic Transactions (amended); Cooperatives (amended); Civil Defense; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on People's Public Security; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.
