Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day 2023 opens today

With the theme "Artificial Intelligence: Power for Life", AI Summit 2023 opened on the morning of September 22 and attracted thousands of registrations from the domestic and international community interested in AI technology.

Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day (AI4VN 2023) takes place on September 21-22 at Riverside Palace, 360D Ben Van Don, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, including 4 main activities: AI Summit, AI Workshop, AI Expo and CTO Summit 2023 - honoring the company with the best technology environment in Vietnam.

The main session of the AI Summit opens at 8:30 a.m. on September 22, broadcast live on VnExpress , with the participation of government leaders, ministries, large corporations, scientists and especially the community of people interested in technology development and AI applications. At this forum, famous domestic and international speakers will bring real stories and share experiences to contribute to the development of the AI ecosystem in Vietnam.

Mr. Pablo Fuentes Nettel - Senior Consultant at Oxford Insights - will present the first paper, updating the "Government AI Readiness Index". Through the global AI readiness picture and analyzing the measurement indicators in Vietnam over the past year, Mr. Pablo will suggest some directions to exploit the potential from the dynamic economy, young population, and the presence of technology unicorns.

The festival continues at 1:30 p.m. with the CTO Summit with the theme "Vietnamese Enterprises in the AI Fever". Here, leaders of VNPT and FPT Smart Cloud will share outstanding AI solutions for each industry such as insurance, media and programming. Experts from Heineken, VNPT and FPT will discuss and suggest initial experiences to help Vietnamese enterprises not miss out on the AI trend.

Next is the program to honor "Company with the best technology environment", held for the first time. From 50 submitted profiles, the organizing committee selected 15 enterprises to the next round and will announce the results at the end of the business forum. This highlight honors enterprises that promote innovation, promote technology application, find growth problems with technology, bring efficiency to business operations, and policies to develop the quality of the technology environment for employees.

Throughout the two days, the AI Expo exhibition space with 30 booths will demonstrate AI application products. Domestic and foreign companies and corporations will demonstrate multi-industry technology application solutions and recruitment booths.

From the afternoon of September 21, the festival kicked off with three AI Workshop sessions updating a series of prominent artificial intelligence trends in the fields of finance, healthcare, and generative artificial intelligence in businesses. In each topic, speakers and AI experts sought solutions to current challenges and maximize the benefits of AI technology.

Also in the afternoon of the same day, a workshop organized by the British Embassy with the theme "Responsible use of artificial intelligence" discussed core responsibility in technology application, approaches and development of standards on artificial intelligence, ethical issues and policy decision-making processes.

Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thu Lam, Vice President and General Secretary of the Faculty - School Club - Vietnam Institute of Information and Communications Technology (FISU), assessed that the topics mentioned at AI4VN closely followed the reality and development trends of artificial intelligence in recent times. He expected that in addition to timely updates of AI technology with the latest applied research results, AI4VN would be important directions for the research, development and application of artificial intelligence in Vietnam.

The AI4VN Festival is directed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, organized by VnExpress newspaper in coordination with the Information and Communication Technology - Faculty - Institute - School Club (FISU). After 5 years of organization, AI4VN has attracted more than 10,000 participants, more than 100 speakers to discuss the development of a sustainable AI ecosystem in Vietnam.
