This morning, December 13, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Quang Tri organized a scientific workshop "Evaluating district-level S&T activities in the past and orienting S&T activities in the coming time".
Speaking at the workshop, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Tran Ngoc Lan affirmed that science and technology activities at the district level have recently made positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality. Districts, towns and cities have proactively developed action plans and notified departments, grassroots units and People's Committees of communes and towns in the area to register a list of models/projects under the policy of supporting the application and replication of science and technology research results into production and life.
In addition, some district-level localities have also proactively arranged district-level budget funds to invest in science and technology development to implement grassroots-level topics/projects, new models of applying science and technology advances, support enterprises in technological innovation; organize technical innovation competitions, build geographical indications, collective trademarks and common certification trademarks for some key goods, specialties and OCOP products of the locality.
Through the workshop, the Department of Science and Technology requested delegates to focus on exchanging and sharing experiences to promote the effectiveness of state management of science and technology as well as promote the application of scientific and technological advances in districts, cities and towns to become increasingly practical and effective.
At the workshop, delegates presented many papers on the application of science and technology in agricultural production, proposed a number of scientific research and technology development in the agricultural sector at the district level; coordination of scientific research and technology development; current status and needs of scientific research and technology transfer...
At the same time, exchange and discuss some contents related to the effectiveness and impact of applying scientific and technological advances, especially the application of scientific research topics suitable to production practices and strengths of each locality; difficulties and obstacles in mechanisms and policies need to be promptly resolved by all levels and sectors to promote scientific and technological activities at the district level in the coming time.
