Accordingly, on the afternoon of September 6, reporter Hoang Sy Long (Reporter Department, Vietnam Lawyer Magazine) and his sister-in-law were riding a motorbike on Nguyen Huu Tho Street (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi). Due to the impact of storm No. 3, heavy rain and strong winds caused a tree to fall and fall on the motorbike, causing his sister-in-law to die. Reporter Hoang Sy Long was taken to Bach Mai Hospital for emergency treatment with multiple injuries.
According to initial assessment, the accident caused reporter Long to suffer a crushed bone marrow, paralysis of the lower body and limbs, cerebral hemorrhage, and affected lungs.

Reporter Hoang Long is a member of the Vietnam Journalists Association, currently active in the Vietnam Lawyers Magazine Journalists Association. He was born and raised in a farming family in Yen Tho commune, Nhu Thanh district, Thanh Hoa province. The family is currently in difficult circumstances, and his wife is currently raising two young children (the older child is 4 years old, the younger child is 6 months old).
On September 16, according to information from Bach Mai Hospital, he is still in a coma, has to be intubated, has pneumonia, and is currently on a ventilator. In addition, he has a crushed bone marrow, a brain hemorrhage, and is paralyzed from the waist down, with a high risk of facing quadriplegia. His health condition is at a dangerous level, the treatment process is expected to be long, and the chance of recovery is very slim.
At Bach Mai Hospital, on behalf of the leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association, comrade Tran Hong Quan - Deputy Chief of Office of the Vietnam Journalists Association and Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Inspection Department (Vietnam Journalists Association) presented 10 million VND and visited and encouraged the family, hoping that they would continue to try to overcome this difficult period.
