On the evening of September 23, speaking with VietNamNet, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association Nguyen Tan Phong said that after discussing with competent authorities, the Association sent a dispatch requesting competent authorities to clarify and handle the act of insulting journalists and the journalism profession by Facebooker Vo Quoc (believed to be chef Vo Quoc).
Previously, on the evening of September 21, Facebooker Vo Quoc posted an article insulting journalists and the journalism profession.
In the article, Facebooker Vo Quoc wrote uncultured insults towards journalists and the journalism profession in general.
The content of the article spread quickly online and received strong reactions from the online community.
At noon on September 22, this Facebooker deleted the posted content and corrected that the article was not written by him but said that Facebook was hacked.
"After drinking, I slept all night and woke up in the morning to see a ton of text messages and couldn't access Facebook. After that, I had to ask for a service to get my Facebook back and Vo Quoc immediately deleted the status about the journalist.
I thought about deleting it, but seeing that the press kept calling and asking so much, I posted it here for everyone to see," the explanation reads.
However, this explanatory status received even more backlash from the online community. After that, Facebooker Vo Quoc continued to delete the apology content.
According to some experts in the field of cyber security, recovering a hacked account cannot be done in a few hours. It takes at least 24 hours or 48 hours after requesting Facebook verification.
Currently, Vo Quoc's Facebook account is locked.
Speaking further with VietNamNet, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association Nguyen Tan Phong said: "The Association has requested competent authorities to investigate and strictly handle the behavior of Facebooker Vo Quoc who insulted the press with unacceptable language...".
