Information of the 2024 AUN-QA International Conference held at Ton Duc Thang University

Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) has been a member of the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) since 2018. With facilities rated 5/5 stars by QS Stars (UK) and experience in organizing hundreds of events every year, TDTU was chosen to host the AUN-QA International Conference in 2024.

This event is considered a professional and useful academic forum where experts, educators, and leaders of domestic and foreign universities meet, exchange, and share experiences in ensuring the quality of higher education, providing updated information and multi-dimensional perspectives on the future of higher education. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of higher education in the region, meeting the increasing demands of society and the trend of international integration.

After 27 years of establishment and development, Ton Duc Thang University is a young university that has always been steadfast in its goal of becoming an international-class research university to carry out the mission of "Education, research and innovation for the comprehensive development of people and society". Up to now, TDTU has gradually affirmed its training quality and academic reputation; TDTU is ranked in the Top 200 leading universities in Asia and is one of the young universities with outstanding achievements in the world according to THE Asia University Rankings and THE Young University Rankings.

The 2024 AUN-QA International Conference is expected to welcome guests including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) of Thailand, the AUN Executive Director, speakers and coordinators from universities, educational quality accreditation organizations, and organizations operating in the education sector from around the world. The Conference program includes three main activities:

AUN-QA International Conference (AUN-QA IC): The official forum for experts, educators and university representatives to share experiences and discuss pressing issues in the field of education quality assurance. With the main theme of “Innovating ASEAN Higher Education: Embracing AI Integration, Database Utilization and Future-Ready Quality Culture”, the 2024 International Conference focuses on the important role of artificial intelligence, data-driven strategies and quality culture in improving the quality of education.

AUN-QA AGA General Assembly: A forum for AUN-QA assessors to share experiences, discuss professional issues and enhance capacity in education quality assessment.

AUN-QA Network University Quality Assurance Leadership Conference (AUN-QA CQO): A forum dedicated to quality assurance leaders of AUN-QA member universities to discuss, update and orient the development of AUN-QA's quality assurance system.

The first AUN-QA International Conference was held in 2016 in Indonesia. To date, the Conference has been held 6 times in 4 countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines). In 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) is honored to become the first university in Vietnam to be selected by the ASEAN University Network (AUN) to host this important conference.

“This is a source of pride for TDTU and a testament to the university’s continuous efforts to improve the quality of training and research, as well as the Vietnamese education system. As a representative, TDTU wishes to contribute to promoting regional cooperation and adding a voice to improve the quality of ASEAN higher education, bringing Vietnam closer to international standards,” a TDTU representative affirmed.

Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) has achieved many achievements in international quality accreditation, to date there have been 41 training programs meeting quality standards according to international standards such as AUN-QA, FIBAA and ASIIN. In addition, TDTU has also achieved accreditation at the educational institution level according to French standards - HCÉRES (2018 - 2023) and European standards - FIBAA (2024 - 2030).
