The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Marie Curie Meo Vac Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Marie Curie Meo Vac School) was organized by the People's Committee of Meo Vac district in coordination with Marie Curie Hanoi School in Ha Sua village, Ta Lung commune, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province.

The school construction project was funded by teacher Nguyen Xuan Khang, Chairman of the Education Council of Marie Curie Secondary and High School (Hanoi). The total investment for the project is about 100 billion VND in the form of construction works.

The school was built in Ha Sua village, Ta Lung commune, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province, on an area of ​​nearly 30,000m2, with an initial scale of 18 classrooms, serving about 540 students from grades 1 to 9, mainly children of ethnic minorities in Meo Vac district.

In the next phase, the class size will increase to 27 classes, meeting the learning needs of 810 students. It is expected that over 70% of students will stay in the dormitory, live and study at the school.

The project was undertaken by a team of architects from Marie Curie School Hanoi.

“Giving a school to a northern border area has been my long-standing wish. When the school is completed, I will officially hand it over to the teachers and students here,” said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khang.

Mr. Khang said that the construction time is about 1 year. It is expected that this school will be completed and put into use from June 2026; enrollment will begin from the 2026-2027 school year.
