The event was organized by the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection (VCPMC), with the participation of 30 delegates and representatives from Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) of Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, India and Collective Management Organizations from Taiwan, Macao, Hong Kong (China).

Mr. Hoang Van Binh, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection, said that the conference was organized with the aim of bringing Vietnam's music copyright protection activities to quickly catch up with the general development trend of the region and the world. This is also an opportunity for international CMOs to better understand the activities of the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection in particular, and the intellectual property sector of Vietnam in general in the context of global development.
At the conference, the Vietnam Music Copyright Protection Center gave important presentations on digital data matching; processing and distributing digital usage reports; rights management tools of Facebook, Youtube, CMS...
Speaking at the conference, Mr. ZHANG Jing - representative of the International Confederation of Societies of Composers and Lyricists (CISAC) said: “The role of CMO in the music industry is very important. The Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection has clearly demonstrated its role in licensing and distribution, as well as activities related to copyright and Vietnamese musicians. The music community has benefited from the activities of the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection in particular and copyright activities in general."

According to Mr. ZHANG Jing, this meeting, exchange and sharing of experiences in data processing and information technology in the field of copyright not only enhances measures to protect the rights of member musicians and authors but also contributes to the development of the music industry in general. In this development, it is necessary to have the support of state management agencies and the cooperation of users from digital platforms to jointly create a community to develop the music industry worldwide.
Copyright protection in the face of the increasingly strong development of information technology and the diversity of digital platforms are also issues that delegates of international CMOs spend a lot of time reporting and discussing. Each presentation by representatives of international CMOs is a separate perspective with specific characteristics of the country, the advantages and difficulties encountered in the field of intellectual property in general, and music copyright protection in particular in the digital environment.

Ms. Yenny Tsai - Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Committee of CISAC assessed: "The Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection has developed very strongly in recent years, especially in its strong connection and integration into the international community. This is beneficial for creative authors. And organizing exchange conferences like this is extremely important for CMOs in different countries to have the opportunity to exchange, learn, and share experiences with each other in the field of digital copyright, contributing to increasing revenue and improving intellectual property protection in general, and music copyright protection in particular".
