On the afternoon of October 11, the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work held a national online conference to study and implement Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW dated June 15, 2023 of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of external information work in the new situation.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work chaired the conference.
Attending the conference at Ninh Binh bridge were comrades: Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tong Quang Thin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Mai Hoa, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.
Delegates attending the conference listened to the Summary Report of 10 years of implementing Conclusion No. 16-KL/TW, dated February 14, 2012 of the Politburo on "Foreign information development strategy for the period 2010 - 2020".
Accordingly, the implementation of Conclusion No. 16 has always received close attention from the Party and State leaders, close, synchronous and active coordination of departments, ministries, branches and localities, the Fatherland Front, unions and organizations, people, news agencies, press and media. Many specific policies and solutions have been built and effectively implemented, contributing to promoting the image and potential of the country, arousing patriotism, national pride, aspirations to build and develop the country of all classes of people, mobilizing domestic and international resources.
Thereby, contributing to creating a great source of strength to help strengthen potential, enhance the country's position and prestige in the international arena, consolidate and develop cooperative relations with countries and international organizations, and defeat the sabotage plots of hostile forces. The report also clearly states the limitations, causes and lessons learned in implementing Conclusion No. 16.
Next, the delegates listened to the core content and instructions for implementing Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation. In which, the viewpoint was affirmed: Foreign information work is an important part of the Party's political, ideological and foreign affairs work, state diplomacy, and people's diplomacy; it is a regular and long-term task of the entire political system under the leadership of the Party.
Closely connect, synchronously deploy, with focus and key points between foreign information and domestic information, between Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy and people's diplomacy. Promote the combined strength of the entire political system, at the same time encourage the active participation of the people, Vietnamese compatriots abroad and international friends.
Foreign information needs to be proactive, highly predictive; harmoniously combining "construction" and "fighting". Constantly innovating content, diversifying foreign information methods according to the motto "Proactive, synchronous, timely, creative, effective", suitable to the needs of domestic and foreign subjects, regions, and locations, focusing on countries and territories that have great influence on national development.
Also at the conference, delegates discussed topics on improving the effectiveness of the Party's foreign information work and people's foreign information work in the new situation; the world and regional situation and issues arising for foreign information work in the new situation; foreign information work in the defense sector contributing to protecting national security early and from afar.
Concluding the conference, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work, proposed: The Central Steering Committee for External Information Work, the force working on external information work at home and abroad continue to thoroughly grasp, grasp and promote information and propaganda on Conclusion No. 57 of the Politburo with practical, specific, appropriate content, associated with the characteristics of each agency, unit and locality.
Continue to innovate in the content and methods of foreign information on the basis of strongly applying scientific and technological achievements and digital transformation. Review, improve and enhance the effectiveness of the leadership and direction of the Central and grassroots foreign information steering committees; focus on building and training a team of cadres working in foreign information; mobilize domestic and foreign resources to serve foreign information work.
Resolutely and persistently fight and refute false and distorted arguments of hostile forces, and overcome the situation where press agencies and social networks post false and unverified information that harms national and ethnic interests and international cooperation.
