On March 26, the Department of Health held a conference on digital transformation of the health sector in Hung Yen province in 2025.
According to the conference report, currently 100% of hospitals and medical centers in the province have applied hospital management software (HIS/LIS). 100% of pharmacies, drug stores, and medical facilities have connected to the national pharmaceutical database and the national prescription system. 100% of medical facilities licensed to provide health insurance examination and treatment apply the use of chip-embedded citizen identification cards to register for medical examination and treatment instead of health insurance cards. 6 medical examination and treatment facilities have deployed a cashless payment system (dynamic QR) from HIS software to banks, helping to directly integrate hospital fee payments through the hospital management software system, improving convenience for patients.
However, in addition to the achieved results, the digital transformation work of the provincial health sector still faces difficulties such as: Unsynchronized information technology infrastructure; lack of specialized human resources; difficulties in connecting and exchanging data between units; limited awareness of digital transformation of medical facilities; limited investment funds for digital transformation; the implementation of information technology applications has not been structured into medical service prices, causing difficulties in investing in upgrading the system...
At the conference, experts, technology businesses, and delegates exchanged and shared experiences, proposed specific, appropriate, and effective solutions in digital transformation of the healthcare sector.
In order to achieve high efficiency in digital transformation in the coming time, the Department of Health recommends that medical examination and treatment units focus on upgrading the integrated hospital management system to digitize the entire process towards electronic medical records and utilities for people. Develop and expand remote consultation and examination services through applications, video calls or connection systems between doctors and patients. Digitize the pharmaceutical management process from prescribing, dispensing, inventory control and drug quality monitoring. Build a centralized pharmaceutical database linking hospitals and pharmacies. Deploy cashless payment solutions at medical facilities through e-wallets, bank cards or QR codes...
