Hoi An in the top 25 best cities in the world

The prestigious travel magazine Travel + Leisure has just announced a list of the 25 best destinations in the world. Among them, Hoi An ancient town of Vietnam ranked 4th.

Travel + Leisure's 2024 Readers' Choice Destinations list includes a ranking of the 25 best cities in the world and the 10 best cities in the United States.

The list of the world's best cities in 2024 includes notable names from Asia such as the ancient capital of Kyoto, Japan (3); Hoi An ancient town, Vietnam (4); Chiang Mai city, Thailand (5); Bangkok capital, Thailand (7); Tokyo capital, Japan (8); Seoul capital, South Korea (24).

Hoi An Ancient Town has surpassed Asia's leading tourist "monuments" such as Bangkok, Tokyo and Seoul to rank 4th in the list of the world's top 25 destinations according to Travel + Leisure magazine, just behind San Miguel de Allende, Mexico (1); Udaipur, India (2) and the ancient capital of Kyoto.

In addition, the top 10 US destinations in 2024 according to Travel + Leisure are Charleston (South Carolina), Santa Fe (New Mexico), Savannah (Georgia), Honolulu (Hawaii), New Orleans (Louisiana), San Antonio (Texas), Forth Worth (Texas), New York (New York), Chicago (Illinois) and Aspen (Colorado).

Travel + Leisure is one of America's leading travel and lifestyle magazines, with its first issue published in 1937.

This magazine provides information on tourist destinations, hotels, resorts, restaurants, airlines and updates on new travel trends around the world.

Travel + Leisure is also known for its annual lists and awards, such as the World's Best Awards, which are voted on by its readers.

This year’s survey involved more than 186,000 readers, with more than 70,000 votes cast. Cities included in the rankings are evaluated based on criteria such as culture, cuisine, hospitality, attractions and shopping.
