Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau is a remote district of Ca Mau Province. The district has 27 schools with 10 separate locations, many of which have difficult transportation conditions, so students have to travel by boat or canoe to school for the opening ceremony .
Mr. Nguyen Van Men is preparing to take his children and grandchildren to school for the opening ceremony.
Ms. Pham Thi Quyen, Principal of Vien An 2 Primary School, Ngoc Hien District, said that the school has 2 separate locations with 20 classes and more than 500 students. Due to some shrimp farming areas, there are few roads to school, so nearly half of the students have to travel by water to class.
Mr. Nguyen Van Men said: "From early morning, I prepared a boat to take my 4 children and grandchildren to school. By boat, it is only about 2km to school, but if we go by road, it is nearly 8km, so I let my children and grandchildren go by boat to be faster and carry more."
Due to difficult travel conditions, many students in the Cape have to take boats to school to attend the opening ceremony.
Mr. Le Xuan Hung, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Ngoc Hien District, said that up to now, the schools have basically ensured their facilities. However, the district still lacks 7 English teachers and 11 IT teachers. Therefore, it is necessary to implement a plan to teach inter-level and inter-school to make up for the lack of teachers.
In front of the river wharf of Vien An 2 Primary School, many boats of parents taking their children to the opening ceremony are anchored.
Ca Mau province currently has 491 schools with more than 13,000 teachers and more than 228,100 students. Facilities at the schools basically meet the needs of teaching and learning.
