900 contestants from 20 provinces, cities and international students competed in the Final round of the 2024 National STEM, AI and Robotics Championship.
After nearly 2 months of implementing the qualifying round nationwide, the Final round of the 2024 National STEM, AI and Robotics Championship (VSAR) took place on December 21 at Quan Ngua Sports Palace (Hanoi).
The contest is organized by Tien Phong Newspaper in collaboration with the Central Council of Young Pioneers, under the direction of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Tien Phong Joint Stock Company, Hoa Hoc Tro publication under Tien Phong Newspaper and the Youth Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly implement.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said that after nearly 2 months of launching, the contest has received attention and positive responses from localities and a large number of students nationwide. Many localities proactively organized preliminary rounds at the local level to select candidates to participate in the contest.
The Organizing Committee has organized preliminary and qualifying rounds and selected more than 1,000 best candidates to participate in the final round of the tournaments, including more than 900 candidates from 21 provinces and cities competing live today (December 21) in Hanoi and 112 candidates competing online in the Virtual Robot final round.
In particular, the competition also had the participation of international contestants from China, India and Malaysia to compete in friendly matches. This demonstrated the appeal and spread of the competition not only domestically but also attracted the attention of students in the region.
This year's final round includes 5 main tournaments, each tournament is associated with practical topics such as: Green Agriculture - Sustainable Development, Smart Delivery Robot, or creative programming challenges in the future school model.
These topics not only help students practice their thinking, programming, and robotics skills, but also aim to solve practical problems, contributing to the sustainable development of society.
Journalist Phung Cong Suong emphasized: "Today's competition is not only a challenge in terms of technique or technology, but also an opportunity for you to affirm your talent, creativity and teamwork spirit. Consider this a journey of learning and experience, and also an opportunity for you to step out of your comfort zone, broaden your horizons and learn from international friends."
Representing the contestants, Do Hoang Giang shared that coming to the contest, he and his friends not only brought competing robots but also a passion for technology, creativity, a spirit of learning and exchanging as well as the opportunity to improve themselves, explore their limits and learn valuable lessons from friends.
At the opening ceremony, Giang thanked the Organizing Committee for creating a useful playground for students to unleash their passion for technology.
After the official competition round, the Organizing Committee will hold a closing ceremony and award ceremony this afternoon at Quan Ngua Sports Palace. The prize structure is up to 1 billion VND including cash and gifts.
