On the afternoon of December 12, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee agreed to a plan to allow students in Ho Chi Minh City to have Tet holiday in 2025 from January 23 to February 2, 2025 (ie December 24 to January 5, lunar calendar).
Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the proposal of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, agreeing to adjust the Lunar New Year holiday for preschool education, general education and continuing education. Ho Chi Minh City students will have Tet holiday from January 23 to February 2, 2025 (ie December 24 to January 5). Thus, students will have 11 days off.
Previously, the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday for students in Ho Chi Minh City was 9 days, starting from January 25, 2025 (December 26) to February 2, 2025 (January 5). However, many parents and students said that such a Tet holiday was not appropriate and expressed their wish for students to have a longer holiday.
