Charity concert to help children in difficult circumstances.

Classical music is like a treasure trove containing so much beauty and sparkle; but it seems that few people can access it, because the door to the treasure trove is closed with too many prejudiced locks such as this music genre is only for the upper class and nobility.

Members of the VYO orchestra bring fresh music to help their struggling peers.

What if we didn't need to go to Hanoi Opera House but could still enjoy classical music and it was completely free.

This is a program within the annual community concert series of the Vietnam Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYO), organized by the Vietnam Youth Music Institute - VYMI in collaboration with the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District (Hanoi), with the goal of supporting education for disadvantaged children at Blue Dragon Children's Foundation - a charity organization that rescues and supports street children, disabled children and victims of human trafficking across Vietnam.

Vietnam Youth Orchestra (VYO) is a group of young people from various schools, professions, and nationalities, connected by their love of music. With the desire to contribute positive values to building society, the passionate members of VYO Orchestra share classical music with the community through an annual concert series called “VYO Community Concert”.

Through free performances held in public spaces around Hanoi, “VYO Community Concert” has brought classic melodies - known as the quintessence of world art - closer to Vietnamese audiences.

YVO concert takes place on May 28, 2023 at the Cultural and Art Center 22 Hang Buom, Hanoi.

Not only receiving support from domestic organizations, the concert also received attention from the Embassies of England, Australia, Finland, etc. It can be said that meaningful charity activities are receiving a lot of attention from international friends and we hope that through this event we will be able to call for more help to spread the spirit of joining hands to help people in difficult circumstances to everyone.

Aiming to raise 300 million VND, equivalent to 50 tuition packages for 50 disadvantaged children to go to school and have a chance at a brighter future, the energetic members of the VYO Orchestra will bring their own fresh and free-spirited music to help their peers.

The concert will feature five works: Peter Warlock's Capitol Suite, Jacques Offenbach's Hoffmann's Tales, Vaughan Williams' English Folk Song Suite, excerpts from Richard Rodgers' The Sound of Music Suite, and Tran Manh Hung's Blue Suite.

More than a year ago, the Vietnam Youth Music Institute - VYMI team and the VYO Orchestra were born with the determination to gradually remove the old locks of prejudice, and at the same time open more doors so that the beauty of classical music can reach more people. The next door of VYO this time has a very special meaning, which is "Together we contribute so that more and more children can be found, supported, and grown up".

With the desire to contribute good values to build society, members of the orchestra have come together to share classical music with the community through an annual community concert series and use all donations for charity. Through free performances held in creative public spaces around Hanoi, VYO Community Concert has brought classical music closer to Vietnamese audiences.
