In daily life, people in residential areas always value village and neighborhood relationships, "helping each other in times of need". Mediation activities at the grassroots level are also considered a way to resolve conflicts and disputes between family members, clans, and villages, building a harmonious and happy community. The Ha Thach Commune Mediation Team, Phu Tho Town has been active in mediating conflicts in residential areas and has played a good role as a "bridge" to bring legal knowledge to the people.
Judicial officials and mediators of Hung Thao area, Ha Thach commune, propagate the law to the people.
Currently, the commune has 7 mediation teams corresponding to 7 residential areas, including 30 mediators who are prestigious, knowledgeable about the law and have good propaganda and mobilization skills. Thanks to the direction of the Commune People's Committee, the mediation teams have played an important role in resolving conflicts, limiting complaints and ensuring security and order.
Typically, the grassroots mediation team in Hung Thao area operates quite effectively thanks to the dedication of the mediators. However, the mediation process here also encounters many difficulties due to some complicated cases, related to land disputes, inheritance or long-standing family conflicts, requiring perseverance and skillful persuasion. In addition, the legal awareness of a part of the population is not high, making the explanation and mobilization of mediation sometimes encounter many obstacles.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee, and Head of the Hung Thao area mediation team said: "Conflicts in residential areas come in many forms and come from many different causes. Therefore, to do a good job of mediation, grassroots mediators must understand the law. At the same time, they need to be prestigious, impartial, and know how to listen and accept to resolve conflicts among the people in a reasonable and reasonable manner."
In 2024, Ha Thach mediation teams received 30 cases, including backlog cases from the previous year, of which about 60% were successfully mediated. This shows the important and timely role of mediation in resolving conflicts at the grassroots level.
To improve the quality of mediation activities, the People's Committee of Ha Thach commune has implemented many specific solutions. According to Mr. Le Van Quyet - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Thach commune, the local government has strengthened propaganda work, raised awareness and responsibility of commune officials and civil servants in mediation work. At the same time, the commune also encourages the participation of mass organizations and members in mediation activities; sends mediators to attend training courses, and fosters legal knowledge for the team of mediators. Updating the content of new legal documents, especially regulations related to the rights and obligations of citizens, regulations on land, marriage and family, property disputes, etc., helps mediators have enough knowledge to resolve disputes effectively. In addition, the commune also links mediation work with activities to disseminate and educate the law and mobilize people to practice a civilized lifestyle, contributing to building a cultural life in residential areas.
The reconciliation team of Hung Thao area, Ha Thach commune visited families in difficult circumstances in the area.
Mediation at the grassroots level is a humane activity that helps reduce tension in the community and strengthen solidarity. Mediation work in Ha Thach commune is not only a measure to resolve conflicts but also helps build a united, peaceful and sustainably developed community. Thanks to the attention and direction of the local government, mediation activities here are increasingly improved in both quality and effectiveness, contributing to the stability and development of society.
