Implementing national target programs, since the beginning of the year, people in Leng Su Sin commune (Muong Nhe district) have been supported with tree seedlings to develop forestry production. From the support fund of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, many households in the community groups of 2 Ca La Pa villages (Ca La Pa and Ca La Pa 1, Leng Su Sin commune) have been supported with purple cardamom seedlings. On the other hand, along with the villages of Suoi Voi, A Di, Gia Chu and Phu Ma, people in 2 Ca La Pa villages continue to be supported with cinnamon trees to develop production.
With the support of the State in production development, Mr. Vu Xay Lau, Head of Ca La Pa village, expressed: “In recent years, the community group of Ca La Pa village 2 has always received the attention and support of the State. Last June, the community group of Ca La Pa village 2 continued to receive support for cinnamon seedlings. After that, the people planted nearly 15 hectares of cinnamon. With this area, the villagers will try to take good care and protect it to create a source of livelihood, contributing to increasing income in the coming time…”.
Since the beginning of the year, Muong Nhe district has implemented production support projects for people according to the sources of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas; National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction. Of which, there are more than 40 projects supporting the development of community production such as: Supporting the community to develop corn, cassava, cinnamon, cardamom... Up to now, a number of projects and models of support programs are being implemented, with quite positive signs.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Muong Nhe district, said: Thanks to production support policies, authorities at all levels have actively oriented people to develop the economy in accordance with the local socio-economic development plan. On that basis, support programs are increasingly effective; creating a shift in agricultural production development towards commodity production, increasing people's income, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction quickly and sustainably.
To implement the second year of the product consumption production linkage projects, to ensure support for the units in charge of the linkage to deploy project activities to the people participating in the production linkage in a timely manner, the Dien Bien Dong District Agricultural Service Center has signed a contract of responsibility for implementing the second year of the project with the units in charge of the linkage project to develop Luan Gioi sticky rice, Tia Dinh green squash and Pu Nhi macadamia.
Mr. Pham Quang Thanh, Director of Dien Bien Dong District Agricultural Service Center, said: In addition to selecting high-quality and economically valuable plants and animals, the district also prioritizes plant and animal varieties suitable for local natural conditions to support people. In particular, projects linking production and consumption of products such as Tia Dinh green squash or Luan Gioi sticky rice... have contributed to promoting the shift in crop structure towards commodity production, exploiting and taking advantage of local advantages and strengths.
In recent times, the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction and the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas have implemented many projects to support production for people. Especially in the period of 2021 - 2024, the District Appraisal Team has received dossiers
The project proposed to appraise 86 projects to support community production development (33 projects have been appraised and 53 projects are being appraised). Thanks to the effective implementation of production development support programs for ethnic minorities, many poor households and ethnic minorities have increased their income and improved their lives.
Despite the positive achievements, the shortage of agricultural land still exists in many localities. Some communes still have difficulties and confusion in choosing production models that bring high economic efficiency and sustainability...
