Support women members to develop the economy

Identifying supporting members in economic development as one of the key tasks, the Women's Union of Ha Trung district has had many practical activities, accompanying members in the economic development movement through diverse activities, such as: propaganda, mobilizing women to participate in start-ups, enthusiastically competing in production, accessing loan sources, opening vocational training classes... Thereby, helping members develop the economy and stabilize their lives.

Many members of the Women's Union of Hoat Giang commune (Ha Trung) have built effective economic models.

With the support of the Women's Union at all levels, many women's union members in Ha Trung district have confidently and boldly applied their knowledge and experience to start-ups, production and business, bringing high economic efficiency. Before having the effective farm model as it is today, Ms. Le Thi Luyen, Dong Trung village, Ha Binh commune, faced many economic difficulties, having been attached to the fields for many years without escaping poverty. With the determination to find a new direction to improve her family's economy, with the support of the Women's Union at all levels, Ms. Luyen was able to join the village's savings and loan group, and was facilitated by the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Ha Trung district to borrow 80 million VND from the job creation loan program to invest in expanding her chicken farm. Ms. Luyen said: “With support from loans and assistance from local women’s union officials and members in livestock farming techniques and sharing of production experiences, I have maintained a farm raising nearly 1,000 meat and egg-laying chickens. My family members and I have stable jobs, and the total annual income from the model is from 150 to 200 million VND.”

To support members in economic development, the Women's Union of Ha Trung district has proactively directed all levels of the Women's Union to organize propaganda activities, mobilizing female members to promote their internal strength, proactively participate in economic development, and sustainable poverty reduction. At the same time, organize emulation movements such as: "Building Thanh Hoa women of the new era who are patriotic, compassionate, self-reliant, self-reliant, and have aspirations to rise up", "Mobilizing and supporting women in sustainable economic development and improving the quality of life"; The models of "Helping women escape poverty", the activities of "Supporting women to start a business"... have created conditions for women to improve their knowledge, actively work, produce, do business, and improve their quality of life. The Women's Union of the district has supported members of the Women's Union of Yen Son commune to participate in the final round of the creative startup idea contest in the province with the product of Khanh Linh peanut candy - the sweet taste of the homeland, winning the outstanding typical prize; guiding the Women's Union of Yen Duong commune to launch the establishment of a cooperative producing and trading shrimp paste owned by women with 20 members participating. At the same time, effectively maintaining the models of "Women's group saving to buy social insurance - for a peaceful life" and the model "Women's group saving to buy health insurance - for family health... Along with that, the Women's Union of Ha Trung district at all levels also regularly organizes activities to give gifts and scholarships to children of members with difficult circumstances who overcome difficulties to study well; visit and give gifts to poor members; donate to support sick members. important; built "Warm House of Love" for women with especially difficult housing circumstances in Ha Son and Ha Chau communes; donated and supported 569 members and women with especially difficult circumstances with a total amount of 287 million VND, 1,079 labors; gave sponsorship money to 264 orphans and families with difficult circumstances with a total amount of more than 950 million VND...

In addition to innovating the content and methods of operation, focusing on building and implementing new, practical models that are close to political tasks, suitable to the needs and legitimate aspirations of women members, the Women's Union at all levels of Ha Trung district also pays special attention to capital support activities for members and poor women in difficult circumstances to develop the economy. In 2024, the Women's Union of Ha Trung district, together with the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, Agribank, and the Microfinance Fund, made disbursement records for 5,153 members to borrow capital with a debt balance of over 337 billion VND. Along with that, mobilize members to do a good job of mutual support in the form of interest-free loans to develop the family economy; during the year, members helped each other with nearly 200 million VND; 1,493 laborers and other materials for 934 families of members in difficult circumstances. The Women's Union at all levels in the district has implemented the model "Millions of gifts to share love - give Tet gifts", giving 309 gifts worth nearly 189 million VND to members in difficult circumstances.

Through activities supporting women in economic development, the Women's Union of Ha Trung district has promoted its role in helping female members increase their income, develop the economy, gradually become rich, affirm the role and position of women in the family and society, contributing to the implementation of the socio-economic goals set by the district.
