However, Binh Duong changed the coach but did not change the fortune. Coach Huynh Duc only got a 1-1 draw in his debut match for the new team at Nha Trang Stadium this afternoon, May 21.

Against Khanh Hoa, coach Huynh Duc only put Nguyen Tien Linh on the bench, as this national player played poorly, not scoring any goals since the beginning of the season. Instead, he chose young player Bui Vi Hao to pair up as a striker with foreign player Rimario. And it was this U22 player who created the first scoring opportunity for Binh Duong with a shot that went just over the bar in the fourth minute.

Binh Duong dominated the game, forcing Khanh Hoa to not take any shots in the first 30 minutes. But in the 32nd minute, the home team unexpectedly opened the score with a brilliant moment from Nguyen Duy Duong. This defender skillfully twisted the ball past his opponent, then crossed to five blue shirts for Muacir to head the ball in close range to score.

Just 5 minutes later, Khanh Hoa almost lost the lead due to a defensive error. The defender dropped the ball, surprising goalkeeper Ngoc Cuong and making a mistake. Viet Cuong took the opportunity to shoot from close range, but Cong Thanh rushed back and used his stomach to clear the ball right on the goal line.

Binh Duong's attack was not sharp, but they still equalized in the last minute of injury time at the end of the first half. Hai Quan took a beautiful free kick, sending the ball into the A corner, making goalkeeper Ngoc Cuong unable to save the goal despite flying as far as he could.

However, this personnel adjustment was not effective as Tien Linh was still "missing" on the field, had few touches of the ball and made some bad passes for the opponent to counterattack.

When Binh Duong failed to create pressure at the front line, Khanh Hoa confidently pushed up their formation to attack continuously. Coach Huynh Duc's team was lucky not to be penalized when their defender pushed Muacir back in the penalty area in the 73rd minute. In the 88th minute, the crossbar saved Binh Duong after Duy Thanh's shot outside the box.

The 1-1 result remained until the end of the match. Binh Duong still did not know how to win and only had four points after eight matches. Although they escaped the bottom position, they were only one point ahead of Da Nang while playing one more match. Binh Duong will play their next match on May 27, against defending champions Hanoi.

Meanwhile, Khanh Hoa jumped one place to eighth with 10 points, one more than HAGL, who is next. In round 9, coach Vo Dinh Tan's team will travel to the North to visit Hai Phong on May 26.
