After more than 8 months of construction, the shape of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 through Thu Duc City, Hoc Mon District, and Cu Chi District has gradually taken shape. At the construction site of Package XL3 (through Thu Duc City), the contractor is completing the steps of digging the organic layer, treating the ground, constructing bored piles, and constructing bridge piers.
Package XL3 is 3km long with main items being bridge construction, parallel roads and drainage system.
Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 started construction on June 18, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Long An with a total investment of nearly VND75,400 billion. This is a vital traffic route that plays an important role in promoting economic development in the Southeast region.
Phase one is more than 76km long, with a scale of 4 expressway lanes and parallel roads, expected to be completed in 2026.

Package XL6, the section through Cu Chi district, is about 6.7km long, including expressway, river overpass, cross-road overpass, and tunnel through Provincial Road 15.
The tunnel under Provincial Road 15 is one of the most important items of the XL6 package of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3.
At the construction site, dozens of workers braved the sun to process steel.
Bored drilling items are being focused on by contractors.
When completed, Beltway 3 will connect 5 expressways to create connections for the entire region, including: Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, Ben Luc - Long Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai and Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh.
Ring Road 3 section through Hoc Mon district (package XL8) is more than 7km long with items such as an overpass over Nguyen Van Bua street, a canal overpass and a highway section.
Construction package 8 through Hoc Mon district includes a viaduct over Nguyen Van Bua street, two canal overpasses and a highway section over 7km long, with a total package value of 1,417 billion VND. It is noted that in construction package 8 to build Provincial Road 9 bridge (on Nguyen Van Bua street, Hoc Mon district), there are many machines and workers constructing the foundation and bored piles.
The pillars and piles of the overpass over Nguyen Van Bua Street have been erected. As planned, the entire Ring Road 3 route will be completed in 2025 and put into operation from 2026.
Nguyen Van Bua Street is often congested, this is the commercial route between Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces such as Long An and Binh Duong. Photo taken at noon on February 27.
Upon completion, the entire Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 will open up space for the development of industrial corridors, connecting many seaport clusters, reducing travel time and logistics costs. The project is also expected to create regional connectivity, promoting economic and social development in the Southern Key Region.
