On April 3, in Phu Tho, the delegation of overseas Vietnamese attending the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary in 2025, led by Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), worked with representatives of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province.
At the meeting, Mr. Du Van Quang, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Union of Friendship Associations of Phu Tho province, said that Phu Tho has entered the group of provinces with an economic scale of over 100,000 billion VND.
In the past three years, the province has always been in the top 10 provinces and cities with the highest export turnover in the country.
Emphasizing that Hung Temple is a symbol of Vietnamese solidarity and the origin of the nation, Mr. Du Van Quang affirmed that Phu Tho province always respects, welcomes and wishes to continue receiving the attention of our people to join hands in building the homeland of the Hung Kings in particular and the whole country in general to develop more and more sustainably.
Thanking the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee for taking the time to welcome the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien emphasized that in recent years, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese has coordinated with the People's Committee of Phu Tho province to organize for overseas Vietnamese to attend the Hung King's Commemoration Program.
The program has become a meeting place, meeting the expectations of overseas Vietnamese whenever they remember their homeland.
This is not only an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese to directly experience and better understand the culture of worshipping Hung Kings, but also an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese to discover more of the beauty and potentials and strengths of the economy, culture and tourism of Phu Tho province.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien said that overseas Vietnamese are increasingly becoming an important resource contributing to the country's development.
In 2024, the overseas Vietnamese community worked together to overcome difficulties and challenges and made important contributions to the homeland.
Overseas Vietnamese associations, intellectuals, and businessmen are actively promoting their role in connecting domestic and foreign countries, participating in and promoting investment activities, trade promotion, applying science, transferring technology to various areas of life, innovating, and building a startup ecosystem in Vietnam.
Along with that, activities to preserve and promote traditional culture such as Vietnamese New Year, Hung Kings' death anniversary, teaching and learning Vietnamese in our overseas community have contributed to promoting and enhancing the image and position of Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.
To continue to improve the effectiveness of overseas Vietnamese affairs in the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien hopes that the leaders of Phu Tho province will continue to pay attention to overseas Vietnamese affairs, closely coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs in bringing Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW of the Politburo on overseas Vietnamese affairs in the new situation into life; attract overseas Vietnamese resources to serve the socio-economic development of the province.
In addition, Phu Tho provincial leaders continue to promote administrative procedure reform, creating favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to do business, conduct charity activities, etc.; and support local associations of overseas Vietnamese relatives.
At the same time, direct the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs to continue to closely coordinate with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, provide regular information, promptly support and resolve issues related to overseas Vietnamese and coordinate the organization of programs for overseas Vietnamese in the locality./.
