(Dan Tri) - Newly opened streets in Hanoi contribute to making traffic more open, but the investment costs are huge, mainly spent on site clearance.

Tran Khat Chan Street, the section from O Dong Mac to Nguyen Khoi, is 570m long and was inaugurated in July 2016. The street is part of the capital's system. With a length of only 570m and a total investment of 1,139 billion VND (nearly 2 billion VND/m), Tran Khat Chan Street (O Dong Mac - Nguyen Khoi section) was considered the most expensive in the capital at the time of its inauguration. The road surface is 50m wide, with 3 lanes on each side. The median strip is about 2m wide and is planted with trees and lighting poles. When put into operation, it will help relieve traffic pressure at the intersection of Tran Khat Chan and Lo Duc. In February 2008, the Kim Lien - Xa Dan section of Ring Road 1 was officially opened to traffic. The route is 550m long, with a total investment of 773 billion VND. At that time, this place was known as "the most expensive road on the planet" with an average cost of 1.41 billion VND/m. The road is 45m wide, with 4 lanes on each side. After being put into operation, the road has contributed to solving traffic congestion at the Xa Dan - O Cho Dua intersection and reducing traffic pressure on La Thanh and Hoang Cau routes. The cost increased to about 1.5 billion VND/m. In the photo is a section of Xa Dan street, the O Cho Dua - Hoang Cau section. Nguyen Van Huyen Street was technically opened to traffic in 2015, with a total investment of over 969 billion VND. Of which, the cost of compensation for site clearance was over 680 billion VND, and construction and installation was over 79 billion VND. The total length of the route is 566m. The starting point of the route is the intersection of Nguyen Van Huyen - Nguyen Khanh Toan streets. The end point of the route is the intersection with Cau Giay street. The sidewalks on both sides are 8m wide. In the photo is the intersection with Cau Giay street. Truong Chinh Street is 2.2km long, and was expanded in October 2013 with a total investment of VND2,560 billion (about VND1.5 billion/m). The route belongs to the beltway system 2 of the capital. Truong Chinh Street has a scale of 5 lanes in each direction, along with an elevated road reserved for cars. To expand this route, Hanoi reclaimed more than 116,000 m2 of land, including 618 households and 34 agencies in Dong Da and Thanh Xuan districts. Ring Road 2.5 (Dam Hong - National Highway 1A section) is a project approved by Hanoi People's Committee in 2002, with land clearance decided in 2010. The road is about 2km long, 40m wide, with a total investment of about 1,300 billion VND. However, due to site clearance problems, after more than 10 years, the project is still unfinished, only reaching nearly 90% of the volume.
