According to the report of the Standing Committee of Song Ma District Party Committee, on the evening of December 2, VTV1 Television reported that the quality of cooking at Nam Ty Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities had many problems.
The Standing Committee of Song Ma District Party Committee has assigned the District People's Committee to direct functional units to verify the reflection of VTV1 Television. At the same time, direct the inspection and review of the quality of boarding meals at 100% of schools in the district, and strictly handle violations (if any).
Previously, a parent whose child studied at Nam Ty Primary School for Ethnic Minorities said that since October, his child often complained that meals at school were "very boring and hard to eat". Therefore, he and other parents went to the school to check.
“Sometimes, the children’s rice only has a little vegetable soup and 2 sausages, some days it only has vegetables and boiled eggs, some days it only has vegetables and tofu. There are also times when the menu is fried meat, but in reality it is fatty meat braised with a lot of water,” said the parent.
On the afternoon of November 28, Mr. Nguyen Cong Vien, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Song Ma district, went to the school to inspect, and the results were as reported. The menu for many meals of boarding students during the week only included boiled eggs and fried sausages...
On November 28 alone, the menu included 13 types of food and spices for 536 students with a total cost of VND20,130,000. Each meal costs VND37,556.
The working delegation of Song Ma District People's Committee worked with the Board of Directors of Nam Ty Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha - Principal of the school.
After meeting and discussing with the Working Group and realizing the responsibility of the management staff when the quality of the boarding meals was not guaranteed, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha wished to and wrote a resignation letter.
On December 2, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee met to consider the policy of removing the leadership positions of officials at the request of the District People's Committee.
Implementing the conclusion of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and considering the resignation letter according to personal wishes, the District People's Committee issued a decision to dismiss Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha from the position of Principal of Nam Ty Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities. At the same time, she was assigned to work as a culture teacher at Chieng Khoong Primary School from December 2.
The District People's Committee assigned the Deputy Head of the District Department of Education and Training to be in charge of Nam Ty Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities from December 2 until a principal is appointed according to current regulations.
According to Decree No. 116/2016/ND-CP of the Government regulating support policies for students and general schools in extremely disadvantaged communes and villages, the student support level is 936,000 VND/month.
For primary school students, the cost of meals for 22 days/month is 42,545 VND/day. However, the school only spent 37,556 VND, a shortfall of 4,989 VND/student.
