According to the report for the first 6 months of the year, the socio-economic situation of Dien Bien Dong district achieved important results, many basic targets met and exceeded the provincial plan and the resolution of the district People's Council. Agricultural production continued to grow. The work of building new rural areas has many changes, up to now, 13 communes and towns have achieved an average of 13.85 criteria/commune; OCOP products continue to be maintained and increasingly affirm their value in the market. The fields of education, culture, health, and administrative reform have been well implemented; social security policies have been implemented promptly; political security, social order and safety are stable, and national defense is maintained.
At the question and answer session, the district People's Council delegates focused on issues that voters have been concerned about recently, such as: The main causes of drug crimes in the district; traffic safety issues; site clearance and support plans at Muong Luan 1 Hydropower Plant; land origin determination and site clearance compensation in Pu Nhi commune; natural resources and environmental issues; community model of macadamia planting in the district...
The meeting reviewed and approved 76 contents, including: 55 reports, 9 submissions, 11 resolutions, 1 notice. In addition to the regular contents in the program, the meeting also reviewed, discussed and decided on a number of contents to promptly implement programs and projects according to the law such as: Approving the adjustment and supplementation of land use indicators in the plan; approving the adjustment and supplementation of the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 and 2024 in the district; approving the project to propose recognizing Dien Bien Dong town as meeting the criteria for urban classification type V; approving the list and plan for using investment funds for construction and repair of urban embellishment works to serve the 30th anniversary of the district's establishment.
In his closing speech at the meeting, the Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the District People's Council of Mua A Vang requested the District People's Committee, agencies and units to closely follow the set goals and tasks and the resolution of the meeting, focusing on leadership and direction to complete the socio-economic development targets at the highest level, ensuring national defense and security. Focus on solving existing problems and obstacles, avoiding causing frustration for voters and people; focus on key projects, projects requiring land acquisition, compensation and resettlement to ensure the set progress. Maintain cultural and educational activities well; promote propaganda work, raise people's awareness of law compliance. Request the District People's Council delegates to improve operational efficiency and responsibility to voters and people.
