Emotions from the 5 bridges of the Fatherland
The television program “Under the Victory Flag” is a large-scale program, with the participation of about 1,000 professional and non-professional actors performing directly at 5 locations.
The program has the participation of many famous artists such as Trong Tan, Dang Duong, Viet Hoan, Pham Thu Ha, Dao To Loan, Vo Ha Tram, Duc Tuan, Y Garia, Ro Cham Peng, Oplus group, Anh Bang, Bencanto...
With a duration of more than 110 minutes, the program brought the audience back to the heroic years with unforgettable memories of a time of bombs and bullets. Important milestones of 70 years ago were expressed through a combination of current experiences and past memories, between art and analysis and evaluation.
At the beginning of the program, the immortal song "Uncle Ho is still marching with us" was played simultaneously at all 5 locations, bringing a sense of pride to the audience. The image of President Ho Chi Minh - the Father of the nation seemed to be present all around.
Dien Bien bridge point
The heroic verses in the poem "Hoan ho chien si Dien Bien" by poet To Huu, performed by singer Phuc Tiep and a group of men, brought the audience back to life the heroic atmosphere of the 56 unforgettable days and nights of the historic Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
Ho Chi Minh City bridge point
At the foot of the Thu Ngu Flagpole, Ho Chi Minh City on September 23, 1945, when the British army came to lower the red flag with yellow star, a squad of our self-defense force fought bravely and fiercely until the last man. Their spirit of determination to die strongly encouraged the struggle movement of the army and people of the South during the days of resistance.
The Southern Resistance Art Performance partly recreated the strong fighting atmosphere of the Southern people at that time. The performance was performed by artist Duc Tuan and a male and female choir.
Hanoi bridge point
Artist Lan Anh, Belcanto group and dozens of artists from two locations Hanoi and Dien Bien brought the atmosphere of Hanoi in the days of 1946 to the present through the song Nguoi Hanoi .
Thanh Hoa bridge point
Thanh Hoa bridge continued with the performance of Binh Tri Thien Khoi Lua , performed by artist Dao To Loan and a group of 30 men and women. After the failure in the Fall-Winter of 1947, the French army concentrated their forces to sweep fiercely in Binh Tri Thien. In early 1948, they continuously launched sweeps in Vinh Linh, Trieu Phong, Hai Lang, causing massacres. Musician Nguyen Van Thuong, who was working in Nghe An at that time, wrote this song.
Along with Thanh Hoa bridge, the performance also has the participation of dancers at Kon Tum bridge.
Kon Tum bridge point
The performance "Unyielding Central Highlands " (musician Van Ky) performed by two artists Ro Cham Phiang and Y Garia depicted a Central Highlands with heroic, indomitable people, bravely breaking the chains and standing up for liberation.
At the program, along with enjoying artistic performances with songs that have been around for years, the audience also got to watch reports and documentary films about the victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world" that took place exactly 70 years ago.
The movements to fight for peace, against conscription; the ambushes, attacks, and sabotage of airports, fuel depots, outposts, and enemy ships by the people of the South were vividly recreated.
The story of the frontline laborers and youth volunteers in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign was also told in the television program. Despite hardships and difficulties, the youth of that time still tirelessly transported food to the battlefield.
The story of the trench system in the Dien Bien Phu campaign was recreated in the report “Tightening the Fire Ring”. Questions such as how did the French consolidate their forces? With such a solid and well-trained defense, what did we do?... were also answered.
In addition, the audience had the opportunity to meet and interact with historical witnesses, including veteran Tran Khoi - former Political Commissar and Party Cell Secretary of the 101st Cargo Company.
Veteran Tran Khoi was the former Political Commissar and Party Cell Secretary of the 101st Cargo Company. He and his comrades set out from Thanh Hoa to transport food supplies to the Dien Bien Phu battlefield. After 70 years, the memories of the old battlefield are still intact in his mind. He also keeps his old battlefield memorabilia in his house as precious treasures.
If compared to Thanh Hoa bridge with frontline workers, Kon Tum is the force that shares the fire with Dien Bien, the story of the military medical logistics of Hanoi bridge will be explored more deeply. Questions such as: How did Hanoi medical students leave for the battlefield that year? What were the unique initiatives of frontline doctors from Hanoi contributing to the Dien Bien battlefield?... were answered in the program, through a conversation with Major General Nguyen Tu - former Deputy Director of the Military Medical Academy and Mr. Le Van Sam - Liaison soldier of Professor Ton That Tung at the Dien Bien Phu front.
As the campaign escalated, wounded soldiers suffered serious injuries, especially to the brain, beyond the scope of military medicine, so the force sent a telegram asking for help from leading professors and doctors. Professor Ton That Tung visited and decided to stay, both treating the soldiers himself and instructing his colleagues in the process.
A special meeting between two generations
The television program continued with the return to Dien Bien bridge point, at the D1 base relic (Dominique 2), which is the base at the highest position of the eastern hill range of the Dien Bien Phu base complex's central subdivision. This is also the fighting place of Battalion 166, Regiment 209, Division 312.
A special thing is that the two daughters of martyr Nguyen Thien Thuat - one of the soldiers who fought at base D1 (Dominique 2), were also present in the program. The two sisters Nguyen Thi Oanh and Nguyen Thi Kim had the opportunity to meet the veterans of the 312th Division with their father, Mr. Nguyen Huu Chap, Mr. Vu Dinh Oi, Mr. Bui Kim Dieu.
Not only that, the crew also prepared another special gift to send to the two daughters of martyr Nguyen Thien Thuat. It is a portrait of the martyr created by synthesizing images of his grandparents and children. The program hopes to partly fulfill the daughter's dream of meeting her father again, because for many years, the family has always tried to find the grave of martyr Nguyen Thien Thuat but still had no results.
The TV show “Under the Victory Flag” ended with images of awarding commemorative medals to veterans, former youth volunteers, and frontline laborers at 5 locations. Over the past 70 years, the flag carrying the aspiration for victory has led our army and people through the resistance wars for independence and freedom, gathering the willpower to innovate and build the country. And the victory flag will forever be a symbol of the will and aspiration for a strong Vietnam.
The TV show “Under the Flag of Victory” hopes to convey the message that the Dien Bien Phu Victory is a common feat of the entire nation, fueled by the desire for independence and freedom of a nation.
For nearly 9 years, we have devoted all our efforts to achieve the Dien Bien Phu Victory, but it was not a victory at Dien Bien Phu alone, but the whole country had achievements to contribute to.
