This March, for young people studying and living in Hue, is much more bustling. It is not only the month of celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025) but also another meaningful day, which is the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Thua Thien Hue (now Hue City, March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025).
In the spring weather, many young people and students from many places in the area come to red addresses to offer incense, flowers, show gratitude and remember. In this ancient capital, it is difficult to list all the places and relics considered red addresses associated with many historical events and revolutionary struggles. As the unit managing many relics in the area, Hue City History Museum these days welcomes many delegations to visit and offer flowers, including many delegations from Youth Union organizations, young people and students.
One of the relics that many delegations visited on this occasion was the Chin Ham relic (An Tay ward, Thuan Hoa district). This is a place that bears the mark of a painful, loss-filled but heroic and resilient time of our nation. Closing the past of the "hell on earth", Chin Ham has now become a red address - a place to visit, study, and educate the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary will for today's and future generations.
According to the leader of the Hue City History Museum, these days, the Nine Tunnels relic site is bustling with delegations from agencies, unions, schools, social organizations, armed forces, veterans, etc. coming to offer flowers and incense to show respect and gratitude to the heroic martyrs and patriots who sacrificed their lives at this historical relic site.
After offering incense and flowers, many young people also visited and learned about the system of relics that remain until today, to better understand the extremely difficult and painful lives of revolutionary soldiers, people of all classes, and patriotic intellectuals when they were imprisoned and tortured by the enemy.
Young man Nguyen Thanh Vu (Thuan Hoa District, Hue City) said that he had only read history books and viewed pictures on websites for a long time and this was the first time he had come to this relic to understand more about the heroic history of the nation in general and Hue in particular. "Only by coming to the historical relics of these meaningful March days can we understand and appreciate more deeply the merits and sacrifices of our ancestors to achieve independence and peace like today. The relics here are like living pages of history, helping today's generation to be more aware of the spirit of peace and love and responsibility for the homeland and the Fatherland," Vu said.
Meanwhile, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City (7 Le Loi, Thuan Hoa District) as well as other relics associated with the life of President Ho Chi Minh in Hue, the atmosphere was equally bustling as many delegations came here to offer flowers and report their achievements to beloved Uncle Ho. Along with the permanent exhibits and documents, many people coming to this space also enjoyed the paintings about Uncle Ho that were being displayed during these meaningful days. “Here, I seem to understand more about Uncle Ho's great career as well as the years he lived in Hue. That was an extremely important time for the formation of the personality of Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh. And today, I feel the pride of the land I live in, where many special historical relics about Uncle Ho are preserved,” Ms. Phan Thu Hoai - a Hue native shared after visiting the space of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City.
In addition to the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, the relics under the management of this unit such as Uncle Ho Memorial House in Duong No village, Uncle Ho Memorial House on Mai Thuc Loan street inside Hue Citadel, Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted... in March, the flow of people coming here to learn and visit is also very crowded.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Loc, Director of the Hue City Museum of History, said that the sites and relics that the unit manages have been visited by many visitors during these days of March. In addition to the Nine Tunnels relic, people often visit the Lao Thua Phu relic. “Not only are there local groups of visitors, but there are also many groups of visitors from neighboring localities such as Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and even groups from Ba Ria - Vung Tau who come here to offer incense, flowers and visit. There are groups of several hundred people,” Mr. Loc shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Loc, March is a month with many important anniversaries, so the museum always prepares thoughtful reception and explanation work. In addition to the fixed schedule, units in need can contact for service.
