Lionel Messi's Inter Miami unveiling was postponed due to a storm. However, the player still made a grand appearance in front of thousands of spectators at his new club.

Heavy rain in Miami could not stop tens of thousands of Inter Miami fans from filling the DRV PNK stadium to welcome their idol Lionel Messi, the most notable new recruit in the team's history.
The storm forced the Argentine superstar's unveiling to be postponed. However, it could not quench the burning thirst for Messi.
After a long wait, fans finally got to see Messi appear "in the flesh", alongside David Beckham and many "top players" of Inter Miami Club.
Messi said: "I would like to thank the Inter Miami fans for their warm and affectionate welcome.
I am very happy to be here, to be with you. I would like to thank the owners of the club, Jose Mas, David Beckham, for their welcome.
They made everything easy for us. It has been spectacular since I arrived. I am looking forward to training and playing with my new club. I want to aim for victories to help the club grow. I hope to receive enthusiastic support from the fans.
I would also like to thank my new teammates for their warm welcome. I am very happy that my family and I have chosen Miami and the club's project. We will have a good time here. Thank you all."
Unable to hide his happiness, co-owner of Inter Miami Club, former football star David Beckham said: "Ten years ago, I started building a new club in MLS.
It has always been my dream to bring the best players in the world to the great city of Miami. Players who share our ambition to grow the game of soccer in this country and inspire the next generation.
Sorry I'm a little emotional tonight. I just want to say that Messi's move to Inter Miami is a dream come true for me.

Messi's debut ended with a spectacular fireworks display at the DRV PNK stadium. With Messi and Busquets, Inter Miami promises to become extremely "scary" in the near future.
The club is currently bottom of the Eastern Conference standings in Major League Soccer (MLS) with 18 points and 12 points behind the playoff group.
