On the evening of June 27, the People's Committee of An Thinh commune (Van Yen district, Yen Bai province) informed about a 10-year-old girl who was swept away by water and was promptly rescued by two young men.
Accordingly, at around 4:30 pm this afternoon, a girl named NVO (10 years old, from Tan Thinh village) was riding her bicycle across the Ngoi Buc stream spillway and was unfortunately swept away by the water. At that moment, two young men from Mau A town (Van Yen district) passed by and jumped into the rushing water to save the girl.
The actions of these two young men were shared and praised by the online community for not fearing danger to save the child's life.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of June 27, Mr. Cuong (in Mau A town) said that this afternoon he and Mr. Kien went to An Thinh commune for work.
When the two men approached the spillway in Lam Truong area (An Thinh commune), they saw a girl riding a bicycle across the spillway being swept away by the water.
Seeing that, the two men immediately ran down to the stream and jumped into the fast-flowing water, about 1.5 meters deep, to save the child.
"When the baby was like that, I think anyone who saw it would act like us. Our actions were normal," Cuong shared.
