Over the years, Hai Ha district has always paid attention to preserving and promoting the value of local cultural heritage, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development.
There are currently 6 historical and cultural relics in the district: Tran Hung Dao Temple, Cai Chien Temple and Communal House, My Son Temple, Quang Linh Temple, Bronze Age Site, Stone Age Site (Tan Mai). Of which, 2 historical and cultural relics are ranked at the provincial level: Tran Hung Dao Temple (Quang Ha town), recognized in 2002; Cai Chien Temple and Communal House (Cai Chien commune), recognized in 2018. There are 2 Vietnam Heritage Trees recognized in 2024: Banyan Tree, Village 3 (Quang Chinh Commune) and Banyan Tree, Village 9 (Quang Minh Commune).
In recent times, the Party Committees and the district authorities have always paid attention to directing and synchronously implementing solutions to preserve and promote the value of cultural heritages, especially for typical cultural heritages bearing the unique cultural imprint of the locality; linking the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritages with local socio-economic development, especially tourism development.
The district promotes propaganda and education for people, especially the young generation, about preserving and promoting the value of relics. In 2019, the district coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports to adjust and expand the boundary of the Tran Hung Dao Temple relic area from 2,960m2 up to 3,018m2 to suit the planning and needs. In the 5 years from (2018-2024), 2 historical and cultural relics will be restored and embellished on a small scale: 3 temples belonging to the Cai Chien Communal House - Temple relic; the symbolic work of establishing the first Party Cell - the predecessor of the District Party Committee (Dau Rong village, Cai Chien commune), with a total cost of 4.5 billion VND (state budget 4.3 billion VND, socialized 0.2 billion VND); Quang Minh commune mobilized socialized resources to renovate and expand the Quang Linh Communal House campus, with a cost of 250 million VND; Quang Chinh and Quang Minh communes implemented zoning and renovation of the space of the Heritage Banyan Tree, with a cost of 260 million VND...
The work of preserving and promoting national cultural values is associated with building a new cultural life, eliminating bad customs and superstitions... on the basis of organizing surveys of a number of cultural values that have been assessed and included in the List of preservation and promotion, such as: Embroidery of traditional costumes, wedding customs, the custom of coming of age, leaf trumpets of the Dao people, drums in the coming of age ceremony of the Dao people, Then singing of the Tay people...
Since 2018, the district has developed 14 more folk art clubs and hobby groups (hat nha to, hat then...). The district currently has 3 artisans: 1 Meritorious Artisan in the field of traditional embroidery of the Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group (Quang Son commune); 2 Folk artists in Cheo singing, hat nha to (Quang Minh commune). The district has built a space to display the culture of the Dao ethnic group in Quang Son commune. From 2023 to now, the district has opened many training classes, teaching and restoring rituals, traditional occupations, and intangible culture, such as: Classes to teach the Dao ethnic group's cap sac ceremony; classes to teach the Dao Thanh Y and Dao Thanh Phan ethnic groups' handicraft embroidery...; established 14 folk art clubs with more than 150 members; collected and built exhibition spaces, introducing the cultural characteristics of the Dao ethnic group in Quang Son commune. At the same time, folk cultural art forms have been included in the local education program and extracurricular activities of students in the district...
The district effectively implemented the Project "Developing tourism and preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic groups in Hai Ha district for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030", identifying the development of tourism products based on the potential strengths and cultural identity, natural values of the locality, such as: Community cultural tourism in Quang Duc and Quang Son communes; spiritual festival cultural tourism at Tran Hung Dao Temple, Hai Ha Pagoda, Cai Chien Communal House; experience tourism to visit tea hills in Quang Long commune...
