The number of people, vehicles and goods passing through Cau Treo International Border Gate increased during the days leading up to Tet.
In the days leading up to Tet, Cau Treo International Border Gate has about 1,500 people, 600 vehicles and tens of thousands of tons of goods passing through customs every day. This is the time when criminals increase their activities. Therefore, Cau Treo Border Control Station together with domestic authorities (customs, Cau Treo Economic Zone Management Board, police, animal quarantine) and neighboring countries (Nam Pao International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Border Protection Company 253) focus on synchronously implementing professional measures to ensure the border gate is safe and smooth.
Captain Bui Song Anh - Deputy Head of the Cau Treo International Border Guard Station said: “During this peak season, criminals often take advantage of the rugged terrain, slippery roads, fog, and the functional forces having to perform many tasks... to cut through the forest, hide on both sides of the border gate to carry smuggled goods, illegally enter and exit the country and commit other illegal acts. Many bad guys are also willing to expand the chassis, the side of the trunk, the roof of the car, the underside of the seat, luggage... to carry fireworks, drugs and other prohibited goods through customs. Therefore, we have coordinated closely to ensure safety and security at the border gate 24/7”.
