In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi will continue to enroll students in primary grades online.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also requires schools that conduct admissions using the admission method combined with competency assessment tests to choose a reasonable time for testing and assessment, ensuring completion no later than June 30. After July 18, schools that have not yet met their assigned enrollment quota must report to be allowed to enroll additional students from July 21 to July 22. Kindergartens are allowed to enroll students until they meet their assigned enrollment quota.

The admissions councils of schools are responsible for compiling the list of candidates to coordinate with the local police to review and verify residential information; parents are absolutely not allowed to verify residential information themselves. Invalid cases after verification must be promptly informed to parents to adjust the appropriate registration location. Schools must update the list of admitted students into the electronic scorebook system no later than July 23.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also noted that schools are absolutely not allowed to collect money or encourage students to contribute any amount beyond the school’s regulations during the enrollment period. Schools should limit the admission of students outside their designated areas, especially schools that have met their enrollment quotas, and are responsible for keeping candidates’ information confidential during the enrollment period.
