Hanoi will build 5 high-quality medical complexes

Five national and international medical complexes will be built in Phu Xuyen, Soc Son, Quoc Oai, Gia Lam districts and Son Tay town.

According to the development orientation, Hanoi will develop the health sector synchronously and comprehensively, in a modern and effective direction, focusing on early prevention.

The goal is to build Hanoi into a leading medical center in the country, with general and specialized hospitals on par with regional and international standards, strongly developing specialized medical fields, applying advanced technology and smart medicine.

One of the highlights in the Capital Planning is the plan to build 5 high-quality medical complexes, including Phu Xuyen Medical Complex, with the goal of being a regional medical center; Soc Son Medical Complex, a regional medical center; Hoa Lac Medical Complex, focusing on developing specialized hospitals; Son Tay Medical Complex, serving the health care needs of the West Hanoi area and Gia Lam Medical Complex, serving the health care needs of people in the East area.

In addition, existing hospitals such as Xanh Pon Hospital, Thanh Nhan Hospital, Hanoi Oncology Hospital, Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital and Hanoi Heart Hospital will be upgraded to become specialized hospitals, meeting the treatment needs of the people.

The plan also proposes to build a number of new general hospitals at the gateway locations of the capital, including the Eastern Regional General Hospital (Gia Lam), the Western Regional General Hospital (Thach That) and the Southern Regional General Hospital (Ung Hoa).

Along with that, specialized hospitals such as the City Eye Hospital and the Hanoi Tropical Diseases Hospital will be newly built, while the facilities of the Kidney Hospital, Saint Paul Hospital and Hanoi Oncology Hospital will be expanded.

Hanoi will also upgrade existing hospitals and health centers, especially in densely populated areas. District health centers will be improved to meet the health care needs of the people. Infectious disease treatment facilities with high infection rates will be relocated outside the inner city to minimize the risk of spreading.

In addition to developing public health care, Hanoi will promote socialization in the health sector, encouraging the development of high-quality non-public health facilities. At the same time, the family doctor model will also be developed to provide primary health care for the people.
