The review of additional admission scores for specialized and non-specialized grade 10 in Hanoi is based on the number of students who have confirmed their enrollment from July 5 to 7, 2023.
Hanoi currently has 4 high schools enrolling students in grade 10 for specialized programs, bilingual French programs and dual baccalaureate programs. These schools are: Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, Chu Van An High School and Son Tay High School.
From July 11 to July 14, specialized and public high schools will confirm direct admission for candidates and receive applications from students who have passed the entrance exam based on their admission scores (if any). Self-financed and private high schools and vocational and continuing education centers will confirm direct admission and receive additional applications from students who have passed the entrance exam (if any).
In the 2023 admission period, candidates can confirm their admission after passing the 10th grade entrance exam online or in person. However, candidates should note that regardless of the admission method, they must submit their admission application from July 11 to July 14, 2023.
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, one of the principles for admission to public high schools is that the wishes (1, 2, 3) are considered equally, regardless of priority order.
However, students who are not admitted to their first choice can be considered for their second choice but must have an admission score 1 point higher than the school's admission score for their first choice. Students who are not admitted to their first and second choices can be considered for their third choice but must have an admission score at least 2 points higher than the school's admission score for their first choice.
If the first choice school lowers the admission score, students can cancel their admission confirmation at the second choice school (or third choice) to confirm their admission at the first choice school (after the school lowers the admission score or they are admitted after re-examination). This is also a public regulation, students can be completely assured if they meet the admission requirements and comply with the regulations.
When lowering the admission score, public high schools are allowed to admit students with 2nd and 3rd wishes who meet the admission requirements with gradually increasing admission scores corresponding to the wishes as in the first admission round.
Previously, on July 1, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the first round of admission scores to grade 10 at non-specialized public high schools and specialized high schools for the 2023-2024 school year.
The time for students who are eligible to be admitted to complete the admission confirmation procedure is from July 5 to 7. After this deadline, if they have not confirmed their admission, it will be considered that they do not wish to study at the school they have been admitted to and will not be eligible for additional admission.
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year has nearly 105,000 candidates taking the exam. Hanoi will enroll over 72,000 students (nearly 60%) in public schools, about 30,000 students (23.2%) in autonomous public and private high schools, about 10,000 students (7.7%) in vocational education and continuing education centers, and about 17,210 students (13.4%) in vocational education institutions.
