Contribute youth efforts to build TKV for sustainable development

Promoting the tradition of "Discipline and Unity", the youth of the Coal Union through the ages have always upheld the pioneering spirit, bravery, solidarity and creativity. Each youth union member with ideals, ambitions and enthusiasm has been striving to compete, determined to complete assigned tasks well, and wishes to Contribute youth to build and develop Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) to be worthy of its position as a strong economic group of the country.

Steady pioneering

Quang Ninh Coal Union currently has 29 grassroots Union units with 9,960 members operating in 311 branches. Promoting the tradition of "Discipline and Unity", the spirit of initiative, creativity and flexibility, in recent years, Quang Ninh Coal Union at all levels has implemented many diverse and practical Union activities, suitable to actual conditions, closely following the labor and production tasks of each unit. The movements are constantly being innovated and widely deployed in both scale and quality, increasingly meeting the needs and aspirations of the majority of members. Thereby, affirming the spirit of youth, actively contributing to the completion of political tasks, production and business plans of each unit in particular and TKV in general.

The Coal Union commends collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.

Accordingly, the Coal Union has closely followed the Group's production and business tasks to develop plans and organize the launching of emulation movements in production labor. In the past 3 years, the entire Union has undertaken and completed over 1,500 projects, youth management models and participated in the management of major production lines; 1,147 topics and technical innovation initiatives have been recognized with a value of over 10 billion VND.

All Youth Union units effectively maintain the Youth Science and Technology Clubs and the initiative support groups. From here, thousands of initiatives have been applied to production and business and have been recognized with a value of billions of VND in profits each year. Towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, all affiliated Youth Union units have registered to undertake 1-2 grassroots emulation projects. Of which, the Coal Union has selected 3 projects with welcome signs, including: The youth management route of the Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company Youth Union; automation of the pumping tunnel of the Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company Youth Union; construction of a safety corridor for the car route to the Hon Gai industrial explosives production facility of the Quang Ninh Mining Chemical Industry Company Youth Union.

Volunteer activities for community life have been effectively implemented through the implementation of meaningful and practical youth projects, contributing to improving the lives of people in remote, isolated and border areas of the province. Notably, in the first 9 months of 2024, the entire Youth Union donated 1,257 units of blood; launched more than 100 environmental sanitation campaigns attracting more than 4,500 Youth Union members to participate, planting 69,146 new trees; coordinated with local Youth Union units to implement social security programs, presenting public works in difficult areas of the province with a total cost of nearly 1 billion VND; coordinated with Trade Unions at all levels to present tens of thousands of gifts to children of cadres, Youth Union members, unit workers, poor children inside and outside the province on the occasion of Lunar New Year, Children's Day June 1, Mid-Autumn Festival... worth nearly 7 billion VND.

From the vivid reality of the production labor rhythm and the youth volunteer movement, many typical young people have emerged in coal production units with many outstanding achievements. They are progressive young people following Uncle Ho's teachings, excellent young workers nationwide, young faces, young talents at the Coal Union and Provincial Youth Union levels such as: Le Ngoc Khanh, Nguyen Van Anh (Mong Duong Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin); Trinh Cong Ly (Thong Nhat Coal Company - TKV), Luong Van Thuyet (Mao Khe Coal Company - TKV); Pham Tien Dung (Deo Nai Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin); Cao Xuan Thin (Hon Gai Coal Company - TKV); Nguyen Trong Tue (Quang Hanh Coal Company); Nguyen Van Vu (Ha Lam Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin) ...

Cultivating miners' cultural traditions

Identifying the work of ideological and political education and propaganda, especially the education of the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of the working class in the Mining Region as an important task, contributing to preserving and cultivating the miners' cultural tradition through the ages, the Coal Union at all levels has implemented many practical activities. Accordingly, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style is promoted. through many diverse forms such as: Registering to study and follow Uncle Ho, implementing study conferences, political activities of the whole Union, thematic activities; praising advanced models, young talents, advanced youth following Uncle Ho's teachings; actively building articles, columns to post and share on the Union's social networking sites.

At the same time, organize research, study, thoroughly grasp and propagate Resolution 17-NQ/TU dated October 30, 2023 of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee "On building and promoting cultural values, the strength of Quang Ninh people to become an endogenous resource, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development"; Project "Promoting the cultural tradition of miners in the new period"; Resolution No. 76-NQ/DU of the Party Executive Committee of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group "On strengthening leadership and direction in the work of preserving and promoting cultural values and traditions in the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045"...

In the first 10 months of 2024, in practical response to the movement "Youth for the Party", the entire Youth Union trained and introduced 180 outstanding members to the Party for consideration of admission, with 169 comrades admitted, contributing to the formation of a high-quality young human resource with will, courage, and aspiration to strive, contribute and mature.

Mr. Hoang Viet Phuong, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Coal Union, said: Not only creating an environment for young union members to practice and strive, the Executive Committee of the Coal Union has issued Resolution No. 229-NQ/DTQN on "Improving the effectiveness of mentoring, supporting and assisting new young workers and interns in the period of 2023-2025", to accompany young people in establishing themselves and their careers, continuing to stick with and contribute to the Coal industry and the Mining Region. Along with that, many solutions have been proposed to support young union members and young miners in building family happiness through maintaining the organization of annual meetings with families of Union officials and outstanding young miners to promote the movement, encourage young miner families to actively compete and strive to build a cultural and civilized lifestyle, contributing to the goal of 95% of coal workers' families in Quang Ninh province achieving the title of "Cultural Family" in the locality.

At the same time, strengthen the organization of healthy and suitable cultural, artistic and sports exchanges, creating opportunities for young union members to demonstrate their responsibility, participate in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural identity of the province in general and fostering the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of the Coal industry in particular. Thereby, creating a solid foundation for building a miner culture - TKV culture to develop day by day, building the image of union members and young workers with the criteria of "Discipline - Unity - Loyalty - Humanity - Responsibility".
