The Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Phu Yen district has promoted the role and significance of the movement; coordinated the organization of voluntary blood donation events, contributing to changing people's awareness and actions, typically: "Red Journey", "Phu Yen Red Drop" with the message "Each drop of blood given, a life remains", "Donate a drop of blood - give life"... At the same time, commend and reward collectives, individuals, and households with many outstanding achievements in blood donation.

Every year, the Association coordinates to organize 1 to 2 voluntary blood donation programs, attracting over 1,000 people to register to participate. Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Chairman of the Phu Yen District Red Cross Association, said: From 2022 to now, Phu Yen District has organized 3 voluntary blood donation campaigns, with over 3,500 volunteers participating, receiving over 2,000 units of blood. The amount of blood collected has contributed to the treatment of many patients in need of blood.

Having donated blood 10 times, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Chien, Warden of Yen Ha Prison, Department C10, Ministry of Public Security, shared: I often encourage my family, friends, and colleagues to donate blood voluntarily, with the hope that the blood donation movement to save lives will spread more and more. Every year, the unit also mobilizes from 120 to 200 officers and soldiers to donate blood voluntarily.

Because emergency care for patients at medical facilities is sometimes difficult because blood reserves are not always sufficient, especially for rare blood types, in November 2022, Phu Yen District General Hospital coordinated with the District Youth Union to establish the "Red Drops of Love" Club, attracting 130 members from agencies, units, and armed forces, ready to register for emergency blood transfusion for patients in case of emergency.

Specialist Doctor I, Do Van Quyet, Head of General Surgery Department, Phu Yen District General Hospital, Chairman of the "Red Drops of Love" Club, informed: The Board of Directors has established a list of volunteers with full name, work unit, address, blood type, to mobilize in case of patient emergency. Since its establishment, the Club members have donated blood urgently to nearly 20 patients, each case from 3 to 4 units of blood, contributing to saving lives and reducing the financial burden for patients.
