(Dan Tri) - At the end of May, lotus flowers at West Lake begin to bloom, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and take photos. Many young people are willing to spend millions on makeup and hire photographers to have beautiful photos with lotus flowers.
At a lotus pond located next to Vu Tuan Chieu street (in Trinh Cong Son walking street, Tay Ho district), dozens of female tourists were present since 5am, ready to show off their figures to capture beautiful moments next to lotus flowers. The most beautiful season for West Lake lotuses is in early June. This year, the lotuses bloomed early, from mid-May, but the lotuses were already in full bloom in the pond. According to a garden owner, the flowers bloomed earlier this year, but most of them are white lotuses (Thai lotuses), while red lotuses will have to wait until June to bloom. According to the experience of many photographers, lotus blooms most beautifully in the early morning, when the weather is cool and the fragrance is gentle. Therefore, many tourists choose this time, with their hands full of bags of clothes, makeup, props... to go to the lotus lake early.
Lotus in West Lake has large, green, thick leaves and plump, colorful flowers. The pond owner also actively harvests lotus flowers into bunches as "props" for tourists to take photos. The average price for a lotus bouquet for customers to take photos is about 100,000-150,000 VND. Some young people woke up quite early, preparing costumes, props... for taking photos. Nguyen Hong Hanh (born in 2001) woke up at 5:30 to go to the West Lake lotus pond to take photos. Hanh shared that the lotus flowers in West Lake bloomed quite early this year, bigger and more beautiful than every year, so she spent a day hiring a photographer to capture the beautiful moments here. Hanh also said that she spent 600-700,000 VND to choose a photo package including costumes, makeup, and hair. After nearly 4 hours, with a light dress, a bouquet of lotus flowers, an umbrella... and a hired photographer, Hanh had a satisfactory photo set with lotus flowers.
The lotus pond in West Lake is an ideal place for tourists to visit, take photos and capture beautiful moments. Ms. Huong (owner of the lotus pond on Vu Tuan Chieu street) shared that from mid-May the flowers started blooming, so customers came to her lotus pond earlier than every year. Ms. Huong's lotus pond mainly grows the traditional red lotus variety, in addition to allowing visitors to take photos, it also serves lotus tea. However, at this time, the red lotus has not yet bloomed, so visitors still choose the corner of the pond where white lotus is blooming. The cost for visitors to enter the lagoon to take photos is 50,000 VND/person. Besides the lagoon, there are also services for renting clothes, makeup... right outside the lagoon. Pham Kim Anh (born in 2000) with many years of experience taking photos with flowers in Hanoi shared that in the past, to take a photo album, she did not have to be fussy about choosing clothes, she simply held her phone to take a quick photo, but this year the flowers are blooming so beautifully that she decided to spend 1.5 million VND to hire a photographer, choosing the best photo package to have a "lifetime" photo album. For many service photographers, the time when lotus flowers are in full bloom is the time when they are busy taking photos to serve customers. Le Van Duc (born in 1995) has more than 10 years of experience in service photography and said that on these days, especially on weekends, Duc is often present at lotus ponds from 6am to 6pm to serve customers. The price for a customer, depending on the photo packages, ranges from 500,000 VND to 1.5 million VND. Reading information online that the lotus in West Lake has begun to bloom, Ms. Ha Ly and her daughter Ha Linh arranged a trip here to hire a photographer to take a set of souvenir photos. "As a resident of Hanoi, I have known about the beauty of West Lake lotus for a long time, so I decided to take my daughter there to take photos, with her wearing a traditional Vietnamese dress to mark the time when my daughter is about to enter first grade."
