From June 23 to June 25, 2023, at AEON Lake Town Mori Shopping Center, Saitama Prefecture and at all supermarkets and retail stores of the AEON system in Japan, the Vietnamese Goods Week program will take place at the AEON supermarket system in Japan.
This is an annual activity co-chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hanoi People's Committee, in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and AEON Group.
The activity is within the framework of the Project "Promoting Vietnamese enterprises to directly participate in foreign distribution systems" of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Mr. Do Thang Hai - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade spoke at the event: " In order for Vietnamese goods to be able to access and be distributed into the AEON system, AEON Group has coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies to conduct many market researches, select businesses with products suitable for the Japanese market, organize practical training courses to improve capacity and quality of goods to meet the strict standards and regulations of the Japanese market and consumer tastes ".
The Ministry of Industry and Trade also hopes that the group will continue to organize trade promotion activities such as exhibitions and trade delegations to promote economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Appreciating the efforts of AEON Group, Mr. Pham Quang Hieu - Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan also shared: " The Embassy and AEON Group regularly discuss to find solutions to promote import and export turnover between Vietnam and Japan through AEON's distribution channel, and hope that the Group will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and provinces and cities to organize events to introduce high-quality products and Vietnamese cuisine to Japanese consumers ".
Deputy General Director of AEON Group Japan - Ms. Mitsuko Tsuchiya highly appreciated products in Vietnam, especially agricultural products and fruits that are often grown in natural conditions.
She also shared with Japanese customers: " This is the first time at the AEON Japan system that we have introduced longan products from Vietnam. In addition, there are many other products such as garments, dragon fruit, coffee, shrimp, spring rolls (harumaiki) that are popular with many customers in Japan ."
Many typical Vietnamese products are introduced at this year's Week.
Vietnamese Goods Week at AEON in Japan in 2023 displays and introduces products from more than 40 suppliers nationwide, continuing to bring traditional products typical of Vietnam such as agricultural products, food, seafood, textiles, footwear, household appliances, health care products...
The highlight this year is that agricultural products from Southern Vietnam are displayed for the first time at the week, such as coffee, nuts, mango, durian, fish sauce, dried fruit, rice vermicelli, dried vermicelli, coconut syrup, passion fruit juice and canned mango...

In addition, food stalls and souvenir stalls introducing the unique beauty of Vietnamese culture to Japanese customers also attracted the attention and welcome of many Japanese people.
It is expected that "Vietnamese Goods Week in Japan" will deploy more product trial counters from 2024 at all supermarkets, department stores and supermarkets (General Merchandise Store, abbreviated as GMS) of the AEON system across Japan.
This year, on the sidelines of the event "Vietnamese Goods Week in Japan", there will also be a survey of an AEON growing area, a conference connecting Vietnamese and Japanese businesses, and a workshop to guide Vietnamese businesses on the regulations and standards required when exporting to the Japanese AEON system.
Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) and representatives of AEON Group also had a friendly meeting, sharing the results of the Group's business activities in Vietnam as well as activities to support capacity building for Vietnamese suppliers and bring Vietnamese products into the global AEON system.
From 2017 to 2022, the total export value of Vietnamese products through AEON's retail system to Japan and other countries has reached more than 2 billion USD, including agricultural products, food, fashion products, household appliances, health care and beauty products made in Vietnam.
The Group representative said that in the coming time, AEON will continue to make efforts to promote activities to introduce Vietnamese products to international markets through the Group's retail system.
