According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, the provinces of Lao Cai, Ha Giang and Cao Bang will have rain with accumulated rainfall of 20-50mm, in some places over 70mm.

There is a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in the above provinces, especially in the districts of Vi Xuyen, Quang Binh, Ha Giang city, Yen Minh, Bac Me, Hoang Su Phi, Xin Man, Meo Vac (Ha Giang). Simacai, Bat Xat, Sa Pa town, Bac Ha (Lao Cai), Bao Lac, Bao Lam (Lam Dong).

According to warnings from meteorological experts, flash floods often occur unexpectedly in rivers and streams in mountainous areas; floods rise quickly and recede quickly, causing great destruction, often accompanied by landslides and rockslides.

People need to be alert to signs of flash floods such as heavy rain for many days in the upstream areas, river or stream water turning cloudy, unusual noises of rocks or soil or strange sounds underground...

When seeing the above signs, people need to quickly move away from areas where flash floods may occur to higher ground.
