Principal of Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, Hoang Ba Hung, said: Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted was established in 1991, right after the re-establishment of Ha Tinh province with the mission of discovering and nurturing students in the province who are talented in high school cultural subjects in order to contribute to training talents for the homeland and the country. Since its establishment, the school has had 1,561 students achieving the title of national excellent students in cultural subjects and 9 students winning international prizes, including 2 students winning gold medals at the International Mathematics Olympiad, 2 students winning gold medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad, 2 students winning silver medals at the International Mathematics Olympiad, 1 student winning bronze medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad... This result has significantly contributed to Ha Tinh always being in the Top 10 nationwide in terms of the number of students participating in the national excellent student competition and ranking 8th nationwide in terms of the number of students winning prizes in international and regional Olympic competitions.

Accompanying students in difficult areas
Nghi Xuan High School takes on the role of teaching and training children in the coastal communes of the southern Nghi Xuan district. According to teacher Nguyen Van Hoa, Vice Principal of the school, in addition to the task of "sowing knowledge", many teachers here also have to take on the role of mothers and companions to the children.
Most of the people here choose labor export as a way to develop the economy, therefore, some families have not focused on their children's education. This is also the main reason leading to the lack of determination and effort to excel in studying of many students. Recognizing this difficulty, the school's Board of Directors has assigned homeroom teachers to coordinate with the school's mass organizations to grasp and understand the students' family circumstances, especially the students' psychological changes in order to promptly correct and orient them, avoiding falling into pitfalls.
Ms. Dinh Thi Huong Dieu, Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghi Xuan High School, shared: "Through the "What I Want to Say" mailbox, we know that there are many students who cherish the dream of going to university, however, some parents only want their children to finish high school and go to work abroad. Therefore, many students study half-heartedly, showing an indifferent attitude towards life. Teachers always strive to approach new methods to improve teaching quality, voluntarily stick to the class and stick to the school. Thanks to that, the school's discipline and education quality are increasingly improved. In the past 5 school years, Nghi Xuan High School has always been at the top of the province in terms of graduation exam results and university and college admissions, especially in the 2023-2024 school year, the school has the highest average graduation score and number of students with university admission combinations of 28 points or higher in the province.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh, Nguyen Ngoc Le Nam, said that the common point of teachers in Ha Tinh, especially those working in areas with difficult economic conditions, is the spirit of hard work, using empathy and love for students to accompany and share with them.
We were present at Cao Thang High School, where all students come from farming families in mountainous and border areas, which are often affected by unusual natural disasters. Teacher Ho Tien Duong, the school's principal, confided that how to shorten the gap in input quality, "regulate" learning capacity, and help students overcome challenges, especially the high school graduation exam, is a constant question for teachers. From that concern, after the school assessed and classified students, teachers worked together to build and adjust teaching plans and methods for each group of students. Subject teachers also took advantage of the opportunity to supplement students' knowledge anytime and anywhere, from direct teaching to online or through digital platforms. The school maintained the process of reviewing knowledge for students until close to the exam date to create a movement and learning atmosphere for all students.
