Phu Quoc - VTV Marathon 2025 has 4 running distances

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho emphasized that through the Phu Quoc - VTV Marathon 2025, not only will it organize a sporting event but it will also contribute to promoting the image of Phu Quoc tourism in particular and Kien Giang tourism in general, while creating a widespread influence in the movement of the whole population practicing physical exercise and sports.

Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho - Head of the local organizing committee coordinating the organization of Phu Quoc - VTV Marathon 2025 spoke at the meeting to inspect the coordination of the organization of the tournament.

Comrade Le Trung Ho acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility and the smooth coordination of relevant departments, branches and units, especially the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City and the event organizers, who basically met the requirements and the planning goals set by the Provincial People's Committee.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province reminded the departments, branches, and members of the organizing committee to continue to thoroughly grasp the spirit that this is not just a simple sports tournament but an event that closely connects sports, culture, and tourism. Through this activity, Kien Giang has more opportunities to introduce the image of the country and people of Kien Giang, in which Phu Quoc City is a prominent highlight of tourism to domestic and foreign friends.

Departments and branches need to proactively review and evaluate all work of their units; focus on resolving any difficulties or problems to organize the tournament with the best results, ensuring overall success.

According to the organizing committee, up to now, the preparation work for the Phu Quoc - VTV Marathon 2025 has completed the legal documents, the organizing committee coordinated with the Vietnam Athletics Federation to survey and complete the issuance of 4 running distances of the tournament including 5km, 10km, half marathon 21.1km and marathon 42.195km.

The Organizing Committee developed a plan to organize the running track for each distance, recruited 40 local referees to coordinate with 20 referees mobilized by the Vietnam Athletics Federation to participate in the tournament; completed the recruitment of 487 student volunteers. Prepared materials for the running track; prepared and hung the national flag along the main roads where the running track passed, equipment to measure athletes' performance indexes, food, energy drinks for athletes, race kits for athletes.

The Organizing Committee has been producing and constructing necessary items for the organization of the tournament such as starting and finishing gates, exhibition and display areas, medal distribution areas, post-competition athlete care, preparing music venues, stages, sound and lighting, developing medical security plans, traffic diversion, ensuring track security, etc.

The organizing committee of Phu Quoc - VTV Marathon 2025 continuously detects and blocks information pages impersonating the tournament to defraud customers. Up to now, more than 80 fake pages have been detected and handled.
