Previously, the police discovered a message asking for help sent to the Lai Chau Provincial Police Fanpage. Upon verification, the person who sent the message asking for help was Phan Thi T.

T. explained that because he wanted to work to earn money to help his family, in September 2022, T. listened to the advice of an acquaintance on social media and went to work as a high-paying restaurant assistant in Hanoi.

However, she was then sold to several karaoke bars in Cao Bang, Bac Kan and finally to LH bar in Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province. There, the owner said he bought her for 13.5 million VND and asked her to work to pay off her debt.

The police determined that at the karaoke bar LH, because the child refused to receive guests, the owner assigned T. to do the cleaning and management work by not allowing him to leave the room unless the owner called. In addition, T. was also restricted from using the phone, and if he used it, he had to be supervised.

On May 17, taking advantage of the negligence of the owner of LH restaurant, T. secretly took the phone, searched for the wifi password to log into his personal Facebook, and sent a message to the Lai Chau Provincial Police Fanpage asking for help.

Through verification, the police learned that the child's family was poor and that T. was disabled. T. left the locality in September 2022. The family was very worried, not knowing where their child went and had not contacted home.

On May 18, Lai Chau Provincial Police in coordination with Thai Nguyen Provincial Police rescued T. and brought him home safely. T. then wrote a thank you letter to Lai Chau Provincial Police and Thai Nguyen Provincial Police.

Authorities said that in the case of karaoke bar owner LH in Thai Nguyen province, based on T.'s statement, the Criminal Police Department, Thai Nguyen Provincial Police will continue to verify and consolidate evidence to handle the case according to their authority.
