(Dan Tri) - After being tricked into going to Cambodia to work, a 29-year-old man was forced to work and beaten. The group of scammers also asked the family to transfer 160 million VND in ransom to let the young man return.
On January 3, the police of Ky Thuong commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province announced that they had successfully rescued citizen HMT (29 years old, residing in Lam Hop commune, Ky Anh district) after he was tricked and sold to Cambodia for labor.
Previously, Mr. T.’s family reported to the police that he had been lured and tricked into working at an online gambling company in Cambodia. There, Mr. T. was forced to work and beaten. The group also demanded that his family send 160 million VND in ransom so that he could be released and returned to Vietnam.

Ky Thuong Commune Police coordinated with the family to contact and collect information about the location and characteristics of Mr. T's workplace. At the same time, the police also contacted authorities in Cambodia to request support.
On November 30, 2024, the Royal Cambodian Police coordinated and successfully rescued the victim while she was being held and forced to work in a labor camp near the Thai border.
On December 30, 2024, Cambodian authorities handed over Mr. HMT to the Vietnamese side at Ha Tien International Border Gate, Kien Giang province.
This is the second case that Ky Thuong Commune Police successfully supported in rescuing a person who was tricked into going to Cambodia to work. Previously, on November 14, 2024, Ky Thuong Commune Police coordinated in successfully rescuing another case who was forced to deposit 250 million VND as ransom.
